1983 PORSCHE 944 - (exterior color: RED // interior color: Black) 2-door / coupe -Manual 5-Speed Transmission4 Cylinder, 2.5L (151 CID) RWD Vehicle - 58,698 miles listed on non-ticking odometer (160k; the more accurate mileage; these early 80's models have a 5-digit display)Car is running well with all its original parts, except a rebuilt dashboard (due to prior cracking), and CD player installed Exterior: 9 out of 10 shape (very few cracks on the paint, a few around the left rear well's outer rim, and a 1" square inch paint chip on the right side mirror's front)Interior 9.5 out of 10 shape (no cracks in leather, no blemishes) {NO RESERVE!} ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Features:- A/C (air conditioning) works very well.. blows ice cold. Heater works well, also.- Brakes/acceleration -- pedals/transmission are all in prime shape. Smooth gear shifting, and overall handling.- No fluid leaks of any kind. All hoses, belts, mounts, battery, spark plugs, radiator, and head gasket functioning perfectly.- All lights work (brights/blinkers/brake lights/reverse).- New tires, with less than 3,000 miles on them.. plenty of tread/life left. No spare tire included.. and won't be needed anytime soon :)- All locks are secure, window struts hold back window up, and hood lift functions. Side & rear windows have been tinted to keep the California sun from doing any damage. No window cracks whatsoever.- Seats are in prime shape; black leather, no cracks at all. Doors/handles are like new. Steering wheel is solid & handling is great.- CD player has been installed, and is actually hooked up to a bass sub-woofer which is in the hatch back. The stereo sounds nice and loud, full frequencies/modern, crisp & professional. AUX input for IPOD also. ========================================= This beautifully sporty Porsche 944 runs great, and is being used as a daily driver, with very few mechanical issues (none related to the engine.. all cosmetic). Passenger side window takes a few tries to roll up/down.. might be aged wiring, but the window does function. Driver side is fine. The emergency brake ("E-Brake") does not work. The front bottom lip of the car has a slight bend in it (visible from the front view picture, but is not very noticeable.) Gas gauge flickers a bit when it's less than half a tank full, but the gas tank reserve light indicates when tank is truly low. The odometer does not tick (actually a common malfunction on these early 80's 944s).. It costs around $100 to get it going again. I do know, with confidence that the true mileage on this vehicle is around 160,000. I am the 4th owner of the car. It had one owner, then a 2nd, then was bought from a dealership in Venice, CA by myself about a year ago. I am regretfully selling it for no other reason than good old bills I need to pay, and am accepting thousands of dollars in loss just to get it sold this month/October, as I purchased it for much more than the starting bid. Additionally, the Experian Auto-check history report gives this 944 an 'above average' rating, based on clean title and no accidents. {On a side note, I have, in fact, owned one 1987 Porsche 944 prior to this one, and I love these models; they're dependable under-the-hood, well-built, and stunningly designed. This one is no exception.} Other than the random, minute cosmetic blemishes listed above, everything is factory/stock, well-maintained, and ready to continue being DRIVEN! The car is in overall 9 out of 10 shape (in every aspect), turns heads, and would easily be fitting in a showroom setting for awesome, classic European sports cars.
