Vehicle Detail

1973 MGB - Classic British Ragtop with weber carburetor 1974 MGB This is by far the most enjoyable and reliable classic english car I have driven and owned. She fires right up every time I hop in for a weekend drive. I have taken meticulous care of this car and have taken advantage of every opportunity to keep it in the best possible driveable condition. I always keep her in the garage, and her oil fresh. This car is not a show car. It is a reliable vehicle that could be used as a daily driver. The mechanics and electricals of this car are rock solid. The transmission shifts great, the engine roars, and the lights operate. Virtually everything on this vehicle works with the exception of the hazard lights (Needs a new relay switch), windshield fluid sprayer, and the heater (it works every other time I flip the switch on). The rear rocker panels, driver floor, and paint, could use a refresh if you wanted a show quality car. It's an old car and the body shows it. The interior is also old and worn. Luckily, none of that will keep you from happily driving and enjoying the car. The car has never been in an accident. The bump in the rear is from my Wife backing her into our basketball goal (at slow speed) and the front grill is again, the Wife, mis-parking the car in the garage. Both could easily be straightened out if desired. Some notable items: 1) The engine which has 65,264 miles has recently been rebuilt and runs very strong. I did a compression test and each cylinder reads between 147-150 psi. It doesn't burn oil. A local British restoration shop did the engine overhaul as well as all of the service to the car in the past. I prefer to drive the car and let the experts work on it. Around 10k in receipts will be provided with the car. It really guns strong because of this work! 2) The ragtop is new and works great. Although I would not want to test it in a strong thunderstorm, the top keeps the interior nice and dry during typical rains. 3) The car has a weber downdraft carburetor. This is an invaluable upgrade that makes the car very reliable. It has never not started on me. 4) The car does not leak oil. 5) Despite being an old british car, the ride is remarkably smoothe, even at high speeds. 6) The cooling system is in great shape - she has never over heated on me! 7) Rare wire wheels look great. All in all, this is a great driveable classic that is ready for a new home. I am selling her because I am moving and will soon not have room for a 3rd car. Please let me know if you have any questions. A deposit of $500 is due within 24hrs of purchase. Please, no scams. I don't have time for it. Thanks, ben
