This 1964 Ford Thunderbird Convertible has had an earlier restoration; however, looking at the vehicle up close, one could assume it has been a very recent restoration as the paint, chrome, and interior are virtually unblemished. The car has the tonneau convertible option and the Kelsey Wire Wheel option. The engine compartment also has the chrome enhancement package. It was owned by a gentleman in a neighboring town since 1976. He restored it at and at later date and was awarded the Senior Car Award at the VTCI meet in Tulsa, Oklahoma and 1st place in the VTCI (Vintage Thunderbird Club of America) meet. The car won 2nd place in the VTCI meet in Dearborn, Michigan, and was ½ point from winning the best of show at the VTCI meet in Chicago. The front end has been completely rebuilt, the brakes are virtually new and the time radial white wall tires show no wear whatsoever. The engine and transmission have 17000 miles on them since a complete major overhaul of both. Although the car at present is not a 100 point car, it comes as close to one as any comparable car on the market. The car runs and drives as though it was new.
