1940 Dodge Truck. Stake Body. This is an unmolested all original truck that was used by a service station. It originally had a tow boom and the owner's son had intentions of restoring the truck but ran out of money. He sold the boom, regretted it, and decided to restore the truck when he got money. The truck sat inside the service station since 1978. Now with his kids going to college, he relized he could not afford to restore the truck. When I heard of the truck being offered for sale, I bought it with the idea to put a 1930's-40's fuel tanker with DX marking still on it. I now do not have the time to restore it, so I am offering the truck to someone else. The tanker is available for $600. The body is very solid with very minimal rust. The doors, fenders, hood, grill, and cab are in great shape. The seat springs are there, all glass is good except passenger side door and a small crack in the front right windshield. I removed the wiper inspection shield and all wiper parts are there. The floor pan has rust, the worst is the removable portion, it should be replaced. I pulled the head of the engine and inspected the valves. Everything was rust free. The motor turns freely. The truck rolls easy( wenched it up on my 18 ft trailer.) Tires are dry rotted. All wires look good and all parts on the engine are there to the best of my knowledge. The only chrome I saw missing was the hood ornimate. The petina on this truck turns lots of heads as we were bringing it home. Lots of good comments and smiles! I have set my reserve low to ensure a sale! bid with the intention to own this truck!
