Vehicle Detail
Hi, we have a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix for sale. RELISTED WITH LOWER RESERVE & LOWER BUY IT NOW. Interior Condition: The inside of this vehicle has been recently detailed by a local GM dealer. It is very clean inside and there are not cuts or tears in any of the carpeting, the seats, or the headliner. The driver seat is starting to show some wear on the entry side. Previous user was a smoker. The detailing by the dealer has cut away most of the odor; however, some still lingers. It is not nearly as bad as it was. Exterior Condition: The paint quality is very good. It is very shiny and reflective. I can see no rust on the body panels. There is no rust visible. However, there are many marks on the car's body. There are several small "scuffs" probably from overly excited dogs jumping up against it when the car arrived home for the day, kids hanging out the window, etc. These "scuff" marks are not deep and most can not be felt by the hand. These are hard to get a picture of, but I did manage to get a couple. There are also several scratches which are deeper than the scuff marks mentioned above. I am including pictures pointing out the scratches I could see. These happen all over the car and are not limited to one general area. I have taken detailed pictures of the ones I could see while walking around the car from about 3 feet away. There is minor damage to the rear passenger side area. The outer portion of the wheel well has been rubbed up against something and there are a couple of dents. These dents deform the body around the tail light to cause a slight separation between the red lens and body. I've pushed and pulled on the lens and it still feels very secure. The passenger side mirror cover does not look like the driver's side. It is in rough shape. There is a picture for this. The passenger side mirror does not always move up and down with the interior control. It seems to move left and right just fine. All this sounds bad, but there isn't anything that needs to be done to the body. I only want to point out everything to you. Mechanical Condition: I have driven this car several times for the 15 minute drive to work. It has the typical stiff ride of a Grand Prix (like a log wagon). It starts right up and runs fine. I have a video of starting it up from a cold start. There is a squeaking coming from the pulleys which usually lasts until the engine is well up to normal temp. My coworkers and I believe this is just the tensioner pulley due for a replacement. I have not had it checked professionally, but I believe it is also due for an alternator and battery too. It is 5 years old and appears to have the original of both. The A/C works great and the pollen filter was changed last winter. There is also an exhaust heat shield rattling somewhere. It doesn't happen all the time, and only happens at certain RPM's. Brakes are in good condition and do not make any squeaks. Rotors do not feel warped when pressing down on the brake pedal. Tires still have plenty of tread on them. There are two Goodyears on the front and two Firestones on the rear. (I took the pictures before having the tires replaced so you may notice a Michelin in there somewhere). Additional Options: This car has more options that what eBay pulls in automatically. Heated front seats6 disc CD changer w/Monsoon audioRemote startKeyless entryOnStar (No current subscription, but the buttons are on the rearview mirror)Audio controls on the steering wheel History: This car was purchased a few years ago and driven by a family member. They could no longer pay the person who signed for the loan so regrettably it is now up for auction here. I'm only telling you that so you know that this car had been regularly used and would still be regularly used if it hadn't been for these bad circumstances. I have been completely honest in my descriptions above, but I have only made short trips in the car (usually less than 1/2 hour). This is mostly due to the fact I don't fit too well in this car and my head keeps hitting the roof. If you have more legs than torso you will be ok. Payment and delivery: $200 payment (through paypal) within 48 hours of auction close. Balance to be paid upon pickup of vehicle either by cash or cashier's check within 1 week of auction close. I have the title in hand. It will be submitted to you upon receipt of full payment. Additional pictures and videos: eBay only allowed 24 pictures, but I had more to share with you. Some are additional shots of the interior and some are other scratches. In order to be 100% honest with you and give you more I am showing them below. I also have three videos (about 15 seconds each) of: sunroof opening, starting from a cold start, engine running (with the squeak sound I mentioned earlier). I can email these to you, they are only about 1.4 meg each. Just use the link to contact seller and make sure you give me an email address to send them to. On Sep-28-11 at 10:10:39 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDED/REVISED I had all of the tires balanced today, the ride is smoother. I also replaced the gas cap because it was causing the "Check gas cap" warning to display. The squeaking noise mentioned in the original description no longer disappears after the engine is warmed up. It sounds like a cricket and increases in frequency with the engine revs. It is either the alternator, tensioner pulley, or maybe the belt.
