Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This is a 1969 Dodge Dart I bought this car a few years ago and have been slowly working on it. I have close to $10,000.00 invested in this car. Not including labor. It still needs to be finished but most of the work is done. When I bought the car it had a 400 big block in it with a 727 transmission. The engine was supposed to be rebuilt and run great. In reality it was stock bore with some minor work. It sounded good but only had open headers for exhaust. So I couldn’t hear the engine getting ready to explode. The transmission seemed to be fine and has a reverse valve body. The car was originally a 273 V-8 904 automatic. I drove the car onto the trailer to haul it home. When I got the car the previous owner had started shaving all the side marker lights and side trim. The body is fairly rust free with only a couple minor spots. I finished smoothing out there work and primed the car but it still needs to be blocked out and primed again before painting. The front fenders are junk but I haven’t been able to find any good ones. I do have a set of lightweight fiberglass fenders that I bought at a swap meet that were supposed to fit but they don’t fit correct. They will bolt up and everything looked good until I got to the grill the 69 grill will not fit with these fenders. The interior was gutted I have some rough door panels and stock front and rear bench seats they are rough as well. I was installing new racing style bucket seats with no rear seat. The entire floor pans where coated with POR15 then new carpet installed. I built a roll bar in the car that is removable. I didn’t want to cut on such a good Mopar body. The battery has been moved to the trunk as well as a Fuel cell. The dash had been hacked up so I built a custom panel for my aftermarket gauges. But I also have another dash shell that goes with the car. I have 2 stock fuel tanks as well as many other odds and ends. I decided to take a hot lap in the car one night after getting it all button up and it promptly blew the engine. I bought a NOS Mopar crate engine that was still crated up it is a 75 400 big block. I went ahead and pulled it all apart to inspect clean and reassemble it. I found it to be bored 40 over with flat top pistons and a Comp blazzer 288 camshaft and a double roller timing chain set. It was cleaned re-assembled and is setting in the car but has not been fired up yet. The engine compartment was all smoothed out and the heater and AC components all removed. Then it was coated with POR 15 paint. The front end was completely stripped of all steering, suspension and brake components. I purchased all new steering components and most of the suspension components. I bought a disc brake conversion kit that is also ready to go on. The rear axle is still the stock 7-1/4. But I did buy a ford 9” rear axle for the car but it still needs to be gone through and installed. I will include a list of parts that I have bought that go with the car some used but most new and some still in the boxes. This car will be worth big money when finished I am just out of money and have more important things in life to get done than this car. Please come take a look at the car and everything that goes with it if you’re interested. Please don’t bother trying to Low Ball me I don’t have to sell it so I’m not going to give it away.
