Vehicle Detail

I recently purchased this vehicle locally to use as a work vehicle to transport tools and myself to work everyday to save on gas. The person who sold it to me claimed it to be a daily driver. After purchasing and plating the car it began to occasionally have an issue with the check engine light coming on, and when it does it runs very rich, backfires and wants to stall. When it is in this "freak out" mode it also doesnt want to start. I took it to my mechanic and he informed me that the previous owner had removed the exhaust system, including the catalytic converter and sensors and replaced with a straight pipe. This "freak out" happens because the oxygen sensors are gone and the computer gets the wrong information. He quoted me around $1200 to replace the exhaust system. He also said the transmission may need attention at some point (it grinds slightly going into 3rd and 4th unless you let the rpms fall before shifting). These two things make this car impractical for me to keep for the purposes I bought it for. Someone was not honest and upfront with me about this car and I wont do that to someone else. The car has some rust that has been (sort of) repaired around the wheel wells and on the doors. It has a cracked wind shield and a rip in the drivers seat. It has no radio. The interior is in fair condition besides the rip in the seat. At some point someone decided to paint some of the interior parts green and then they were repainted black. Some of the black paint is scratching off. The passenger side rear view mirror is not original and is attached improperly. The AC does not work, but I believe all the parts are there. I dont know much about the aftermarket parts that people like to put on these, but it looks like the air filter is some kind of upgrade. The good - it is a civic wagovan! The engine seems to run well, there are no major leaks, the interior is in decent shape and it doesnt smell bad. I dont really know that much about this care, as I havent driven it very much. When I did drive it there were no issues going 80+ mph on the expressway. The milage is accurate to the best of my knowledge. Tires are not bald, but not new. I know these are rare and I really like the car. Its just not practical for me as a work vehicle to invest what needs to be invested. If you are into these cars and know how to fix them then maybe its for you. Or if you have one and need parts this may work for you. If you want a daily driver without a major investment and dont know how to fix it yourself then this is probably not for you. I am selling it as is, as a fixer upper or a parts car due to the fact that it has no catalytic converter. I would plan on towing the vehicle unless you know how to bypass the "freak out" mode. This is a no reserve auction. Highest bid takes it. Only bid if you are prepared to purchase and own the car. Ask any questions before bidding. A paypal deposit of 50% of the purchase price is due within 48 hours of the auctions end or it will be relisted. Balance due upon pick up in cash or cashiers check. Non paying bidders will be reported. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
