Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on my 1997 Subaru Legacy Brighton. It won't win any beauty contests, but it runs pretty well considering it's mileage. I have never had any problems with it, and though it shows it's age it is still a good car. It needs a little work to pass inspection, but i don't think it's near ready for the junkyard. As far as I know this is what is wrong with the car: BodyIt is covered in dings and nicks, scratches and dents. Some are small, some are big.It has a big dent/scrape on the passenger side front fender, and the fender and front bumper cover are held together with a zip tie(nothing is falling off, it's just a bit loose.)Both rear tire wells have rust, and i filled the holes with spray foam last year. It is shot with green spray paint, and the rear bumper on the passenger side is held tight with another zip tie or two. it doesn't look good, but it could be worse. There is little other rust on the body, just in the tire wells.the handle to the rear hatch is broken. It still opens and closes the door, but you have to push it back into place every time. (this happens on subarus often it seems)There is rust on the underside of the car, but nothing structural InteriorThe interior matches the exterior nicely. it is well stained, and well used. There is a paint spill in the back seat, and the carpets are very stained. the drivers seat has a few very small tears, and the passenger seat has two cigarette burns(from a previous owner). The panel is missing from the back hatch, so the guts of the hatch are exposed. MechanicalThere is an exhaust leak at a gasket. This is a very easy fix, and the gaskets are cheap. The engine leaks oil. It is not a lot, and the leak is on an upper gasket, so it only happens when the car is running. I do not think it is worth fixing. The front brake rotors are warped, but still work fine. The car drives like it has 265k miles on it. Tires will need to be replaced to pass pa inspection. I placed the starting bid at $350 because that is what i could get for it at a scrap yard, and it's rather see it driven. I think that it still has life left in it, and other than a few small issues, it still runs well. I am not a mechanic, but i think it would pass inspection if the exhaust were fixed, and it had 4 new tires. The awd works, and the transmission shifts well for 265k. I have obviously not babied this car, but I have kept up regular maintenance. Please let me know if you have any other questions, and happy bidding.
