Vehicle Detail

1984 Mercedes Benz 300DT Turbo charged vegetable oil(svo-wvo) converted sedan. This fine machine will also run just fine on biodiesel or regular diesel. It has 138,721 original miles and looks and runs like it. 1984 is the most sought after year for this vehicle. Do some research and you will find that this is the last year this engine was made. The '85 was a one year engine, and considered not as desirable. Also, this engine is legendary because it has a head made of iron, and it is called the "Million Mile Motor". If maintained properly, they will FAR outlast aluminum motors. Routinely they go 300-400K miles and beyond. Transmission shifts as it should in all gears. The engine purrs smoothly at all temperatures and rpms. It has full power and lots of get up and go at all speeds. The engine is leak-free and the body has no rust whatsoever. It is truly a joy to drive. The seats are excellent and very comfy. The body is very straight with no dents to speak of, barely even a door ding that I could find. Fresh new coat of the same original gray paint that it came out of the factory with. The front seats are in very good condition. Power windows work, as do the sunroof, seats, steering, and brakes. Back seat is excellent too, as are the carpets. The headliner is very good, though it has one small tear in the front seat area(pictures shown), and one around the rear dome light. Suspension feels very firm and is quiet riding on smooth or bumps. This car is really a blast to drive around in whether it is stop and go traffic, or cruising on the freeway. Suspension is very good. Tires are excellent with at least 85% tread. Tachometer not working. Because this is a California vehicle, there is no rust on this vehicle, on the doors, the undercarriage, the fenders behind the rear wheels, the bottom of the windows, the bottom of the doors, nowhere. This car is a blast to drive. The engine is very tight and has no leaks. My mechanic told me the axles are new too. The transmission shifts nicely and right where it should. Someone is going to REALLY enjoy it. Have fun and good luck bidding! I just adjust and tilt my ridiculously cushy padded headrest, tilt back the seat to that perfect angle, lower the seat cushion down to provide the perfect amount of headroom, tune the full sound stereo to my favorite song, turn on the fuel line heater to get the veggie oil ready to go, put on my shades, lay my arms on BOTH padded arm rests, and go on about my environmentally conscious, almost free to drive, French fry smelling, comfortable, stylish, practical way with effortless power steering and brakes, and lots of power, knowing I am driving one of the most solid driving machines ever made. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH;) Things wrong with the vehicle: A/C compressor is broken. Driver window needs to be put back on track. Needs new Horn button. A tear in the headliner. Antenna wire needs to be connected(antenna works). Car runs WVO like a champ, all you need to do is get a new fuel filter and housing for the secondary fuel filter, perhaps a fuse as well. no biggie. Right a/c vent needs to be reattached, still blows out hot air. Lid of the emergency kit is broken. Bonuses: All speakers replaced with pioneer speakers, alpine iPOD stereo(hook up your ipod and play tracks through the headunit). New subwoofer and amplifier. Sounds Awesome! New glowplugs, almost all hoses replaced. Nardi wood steering wheel. Wood shifter. AMG 18" rims with new tires! Heater works awesome. I have driven this car to Seattle and back with no problems. I am sad I have to get rid of this car but times are hard.On Sep-13-11 at 19:01:11 PDT, seller added the following information: When I bought this car the conversion was already done. I bought this car off of ebay about 4 years ago and contacted the previous owner to get contact info for the mechanic who installed the wvo system. I have not heard a response yet. It uses the original tank. It has heating elements on the fuel lines to heat the oil up to the correct temperature. There is a switch to the right of the steering wheel to turn on the heated fuel lines. There is a smaller micron filter behind the driver side headlight. This is not hooked up right now as I just had a valve adjustment, replaced the airfilter and wanted it to be set to run off diesel only for the auction. As previously mentioned, the fuel filter and the housing need to be inspected and reroute the fuel line. The switch for the heated fuel lines does not light up which i believe is just a fuse. I hope this information helps with the wvo info. I will hopefully hear back from the previous owner with contact info. As the pictures indicate the original air filter has been replaced with the monster parts performance filter. It sounds nice and throaty when pushing the gas.
