Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 2002 Suzuki GSX-R 1000. I bought this bike in 2006, right before we found out my wife was pregnant. I am not going to go in details, but I only put about 1000 miles on the bike in 5 years. The bike is in excellent running condition and sounds good and looks good and I love my bike! Unfortunately, I work a lot, and in my time off I spend ALL my time with the wife and 6 yr old daughter and I can never take the bike out since there are 3 of us. We have to drive the car where ever we go or we just go out on the boat for fun. you can do that year round down here. THE GOOD: The bike is in great shape and runs even better. it delivers exactly what Suzuki promised.... Actually a little more because the only modifications that were done to this bike were different size sprockets when I had the chain replaced (about 500miles ago) and a TFI chip which was already there when I got the bike. All professionally installed. The TFI is a plug and play module which controls the fuel injection and it act like you are rejeting the bike digitally. it is adjustable or can be removed by unplugging. The motor sounds real good, the clutch works real good, acceleration is very responsive and not sticky when you let go, at all. she will pop a wheely easily at any speed pretty much! i did not add a speedometer adjuster for it to compensate for lower sprocket, so speedometer is off somewhat. The tires are almost new with maybe 300 miles on them. Front and rear break pads were changed out about 400 miles ago. I changed the clutch cable at that time as well, and i believe i have another for a spare.. if i can find it. No ifs or buts about it. i have never had problems with this bike and she has always ran real strong. always used amsoil 20w-50 since I live in Florida. Never got overheated or even close; even in this South Florida weather and sometimes you are waiting 5 minutes at a traffic signal The bike was kept in my garage with a trickle charger on the battery. also, it has started every time with no problems. I have to admit that I have never replaced the battery because I never had to. THE BAD: The bike is in real nice shape, but remember; she is not a new bike! she is 8 yrs old. there are some light cracks in plastic above the rear wheel (which you can not really see in the picture, but it is by the lights), and the small broken corner in the front by the windshield... a box fell on it from a shelf and cracked the windshield along with the corner from the plastic (as seen in pic). I have already ordered a new smoke screen to replace the broken one and will be changed out before the bike is sold. i took a picture of the corner. it is real small and not real noticeable and does not affect the ride at all. Since I decided to put her up for sale about 10 days ago, I have been ridding her around to make sure that she is running good.. and she is running VERY GOOD! I can not even stress that enough.... i did noticed that the suspension on the left side of the fork had an oily film on it and that means that the seal is starting to go bad. I have already took it to the bike shop and they have ordered new seals for both sides. It is a $240 service which I am getting done this week, so this issue will also be fixed before the bike is sold. i just wanted the buyer to know that the bike will have new seals. the bike has a custom accessory panel by the dashboard which has 3 switches and a 12 volt outlet. this was installed by the original owner and i have to admit it is useful. the 2 switches are for stealth... they turn your front, back and the led side light (custom install in frame) on/off... the other switch brings power close to the radiator and it used to have a neon light underneath the bike. i did not like it and had it removed... but a light can always be put back since the wires are there... it looks like it was done professional because of the way it was installed, but this is a negative, because about a year ago my low beam went out. I have not had the time to look into this, but it is not a fuse and it can not be both low beams bulbs at the same time. i adjusted the beams a little and have been riding on high beams. i kind of like it because of more light, so i have not got this fixed, since it is not a riding issue. someone just informed me that it might have something to do with the gray plug by the dashboard cluster. he said he has seen that happen to 2 of these bikes... so i will check on that when i get the bike back from the shop. THE UGLY: The worst thing about the bike is the rear wheel. I did not take real good care of the chrome. over time, the grease from the chain made the chrome have many blemishes. i have just bought some metal polish earlier today and will try to make them look better. I can not guarantee they will look as good as the rest of the bike. SUMMARY: This is a real nice bike which I have a clean title to. I hate to get rid of her, but I need to get a bigger boat and this will enable me to do so. I paid over $8,000 5yrs ago and hardly used it; just spend money to maintain it, but it was still worth it, because it is still a very dependable bike with no issues other then the low beams. You will not be disappointed in the bike. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME SINCE IT IS LISTED LOCALLY AS WELL. Thank You and Good Luck!!!! This is a resisting. I canceled the previous auction because there was a mistake in the listing. it was accidentally listed as an 03. On Sep-02-11 at 09:24:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Just wanted to let everyone know that the front seals have been done and I got the bike back from the shop. it costed me $275 all together. Happy Bidding! On Sep-02-11 at 10:56:33 PDT, seller added the following information: A bidder has informed me that If you click on the SHIPPING QUOTE link it will give you a quote from Lyndhurst, Virginia 22952... this is not the correct location of the bike!! I live in Port Charlotte, Florida 33952 . I have never been there nor ever used that address. I called ebay customer support and they have no clue on why it is giving instant quote with the wrong address. the guy from ebay motors actually said that i should inform the bidders to get a shipping quote online or over the phone from http://www.newworldautotransport.com/ 1-877-337-0879 . not sure why he thinks that this is a preffered shipper,.. if you have any questions, you can call me on my cell @ 9five4-threethree6-9one8zero.On Sep-03-11 at 06:19:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Just wanted to let everyone know that i just posted my XL Shoei helmet on ebay as well. It is black and red and matches the bike real well. starting price $0.99 NO RESERVE! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290606027621 thanks for looking and good luck! On Sep-04-11 at 18:22:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I just found the plastic trunk cover to replace the pasanger seat (solo seat), the cruise control (witch was on the bike when i purchased it), and an additional suzuki oem clutch cable, so they will all be included in this auction.
