Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a 1998 Pontiac Firebird with 172,476 miles. It has the 3.8 V6 with a 4L60E automatic four speed transmission that runs strong and shifts well. I am being stationed in California and had to buy a truck to tranport my motorcycle. I have owned the Firebird since 2005. Since then I have replaced the transmission (at approx. 115,000), and recently (two weeks ago) had a new rack and pinion and wheel bearing put on. Also has new plugs and wires. I have the receipts for all. I have also replaced the alternater, oil pressure sensor and oil filter adapter a few years ago. Car runs great and has good tread on the tires. The good: Mechanically sound, strong running 3.8 and smooth shifting transmission. Looks great for a 13-year-old car. New rack and pinion makes it handle great. Paint is shiny and interior looks good. Get 25mpg. T-Tops Flowmaster dual exhaust K&N Air Filter High Flow Catalytic Converter Cold Air Intake Wired in 600 watt Rockford Fosgate amp (just needs speakers or subs) Regularly serviced New Plugs, Wires, wheel bearing and rack and pinion. A/C blows cold Good sound system and CD player. Just had checked by a professional mechanic and given clean bill of health. The bad: Window tint has some knicks (not very visible from outside but can see inside) Couple cracks on dash from sun (typical). Broken center console cover. Paint does have scratches and chips from normal use. Driver side door has key marks from a friendly fellow (Not extremely noticeable but there.) Passenger-side headlight has to have hood open to raise. (Could probably be adjusted but I have not had luck doing so. Hood shuts fine after the headlight opens, just have to open it to initially raise the headlight.) Headlight motors are good, driver side makes noise when you put them down but has done so for several years. Window motors are slow but functional. Passenger side will need attention shortly. Leaks oil (probably rear main) but has never been a problem and has done so for several years. A/C will freeze up if ran on high for long periods of time, just have to run normal temperature air through it for a few minutes to get unfrozen. Exhaust rattles but not a drivability issue (just had it checked out and it is not a big deal, just due to being dual exhaust on a factory single exhaust car.) Has had previous collision (4 years ago) but was repaired and painted by a professional body shop. Has a clear title. T-Tops drip if in a automatic car wash. (Takes high pressure water to do so.) Would make somebody a great car, not perfect but performs well and is reliable. Would not hesitate to drive anywhere. I tried to be as honest as possible but could have forgot something, both good or bad. Feel free to ask any question, I will answer honestly. Overall good running, dependable car. Would not hesistate to drive anywhere. Can be available for inspection in the evenings. Thanks for looking. Vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction early for local sale.
