Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 1965 Ford Custom with 129000 original miles. This car has been in South Dakota its whole life until the spring of this year, when it was brought to Cleveland Ohio. There is no rust on this vehicle and it has not been driven in the winter for the last 30 years. It has been repainted once about 10 years ago, and the paint is still nice and shiny. It is a single stage enamel paint job very similar to what would have been on the car originally. There are a very few minor imperfections in the paint, most noticeably at the back corner of both rear doors where the paint is slightly bubbled, approx. the size of a dime or so. This winter the drivetrain underwent an extensive restoration. The original 240 ci inline six cylinder engine was completely rebuilt including .030 overbore, crank ground .010 under, new: pistons, cam, gaskets etc. Head was redone including new valves, hardened valve seats, guides, seals etc... All parts were replaced with OEM Ford parts including starter, alternator, fuel pump, wiring harness and hoses. The transmission was also completely overhauled and shifts like new. There was over $5000.00 spent on just rebuilding the drivetrain last winter. The car also has brand new tires and a new battery. It has only been driven approx. 300 miles since re-build. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere, just hit the key and go. The interior of the car is all original except the carpet has been replaced. It is in exceptional condition for being original. There is one chip in the windshield on the passenger side, other than that all the glass is nice. All the windows and vents work as they should. All the trim and brightwork is intact and nice. This car is an unrestored 46 year old survivor, so there are minor imperfections, but it is close to being museum quality, in my opinion. This is a Custom which is the base line Galaxie and it has manual steering and brakes, and no radio from the factory, which makes it sort of rare. I have never seen another one quite like it. The only thing on the car that is currently not working is the heater blower motor. Everything else works as it should including all the lights, horn, fuel guage, wipers etc... I am putting this up with NO RESERVE, so someone is going to get a steal on this. It has got to be one of the nicest 1965 Customs in existence. The chassis is not rusted, but it is unrestored, so it has 46 years of dust on it. Bid to own. Good Luck.
