Vehicle Detail

1982 Jeep CJ7 LAREDO This is a Classic black Jeep CJ7 Laredo that truly is a SURVIVOR. Originally a California Jeep, this Jeep has been maintained and taken cared of. This Jeep is beautiful, with the addition of a fresh paint job this Jeep could sell for twice as much as my buy it now. I drove 50 miles to the mountains today and the Jeep did great. It has no problem keeping up with traffic in the canyon, going up hills and on the highway. The suspension is tight, steering is solid and it handled the turns with ease. The hills were no problem, the max mph I drove on the highway was 65 and it was smooth without any vibrations or concerns. This Jeep gets a lot of attention and compliments! Motor: 6cylinder 4.2L 258 that starts, idles, operates quietly and runs good. It has a weber carburetor that seems to need some adjustments and a fresh tune. Driving the Jeep it feels a bit under powered and has some hesitation this is probably due to the larger tires and also needing some carburetor adjustments, jetting and tuning. It is possible that the Jeep has yet to be tuned for Colorado's altitude and is still set for California specs. I personally would recommend upgrading to a Motorcraft 2100. There is a guy on eBay who sells these out of Colorado Springs, they are more sought after then the weber. Otherwise the Jeep is a blast to drive especially with the windshield down. The motor is quiet, does not smoke or leak fluids (I don't notice any marks on the concrete). Transmission/Transfer Case:5 speed manual T5 transmission, it shifts perfect without any grinding or chrunching. The clutch is super sticky and it works perfectly. Reverse and all gears operate as they should! The Transfer case is a Dana 300 and the 4x4 shifter works easily, turn the hubs and select your setting and you are good to go. (4x4 high/low) Suspension/Drivetrain:The Jeep drives straight is incredibly tight and smooth. A new steering gear box was replaced in 7/2010 this really helps keep the Jeep driving straight and making turns cake. Whether driving on the highway or in town it people always stop to look or comment on how much they love the color package. The suspension is a BDS 2.5" installed 7/2010. The Jeep drives smooth and is soft with this lift kit. There are no vibrations, shimmy or issues while driving this jeep. Tires/Wheels:Tires are in Excellent condition! They are BFG Mud Terrains with 85-90% tread on 4 and the spare is new! The wheels are aftermarket 15x8" Eagles in excellent condition. The rear spare wheel is a chrome wagon wheel I don't think it is factory however (a tire cover is included and shown in the pictures). Body/Paint:The Paint, body and decals all appear to be factory original. The paint is very reflective, shiny and has a ton of luster. The hood and front clip have areas of fading, this is attributed to the hot California sun. There are several scratches, marks and imperfections to be expected for its age. The interior floors are solid, back as well and the drivers foot area have wear marks and scratching. The body does not show any major dents or issues. The paint is beautiful, but this is the perfect candidate for a repaint. There is no rust! Interior:The interior is factory for the most part, the stereo is an aftermarket Pioneer CD player with Polk Audio dash speakers and 6x9 wedge boxes with cup holders behind the front seats. The seats are oem Laredo seats, the drivers bottom portion is torn and could use a new lower section however the seats feel great and are comfy. The passenger seat has some seem separations but overall very nice conditions along with the rear. The dash pad is in excellent shape without any cracks. This Jeep does not have carpet. Overall it is solid, the rear floors have scratches, scuffing and markings on the paint but solid otherwise. Top: This Jeep from the Factory was a soft top (the rear tub nor the windshield frame have factory stamp holes for a hardtop because it never was equipped with one). Unfortunately the only top included is a factory oem Jeep Special Equipment bikini top and half soft doors. It is in good condition with some blemishes, pin holes and wear. The half soft doors are in great condition. Dash/Switches:Everything on the dash works except the clock which is not factory. The heat, wipers, speedometer, blinkers, gauges, tilt, radio, lights on each gauge work perfect. The horn does not operate. Many Recent Servicing/Upgrades receipts including:3/1/07 - front/rear brakes and front calipers, rear brake cylinders and battery7/20/10 - OE Fender flare kit, Reman power steering gear box7/21/10 - BDS 2.5" Suspension lift8/4/10 - 2 Core Radiator, upper/lower hoses, clamps, chrome mirrors8/26/10 - Aluminum Valve cover kit11/29/10 - Replaced Dana 300 Gaskets4/21/11 - inner/outer axle bearings, seals, diff seal, pinion seal, adjusted rear brakes and rear driveshaft ujoints OUT OF STATE BUYERS:Many of you are out of state buyers and have never purchased sight unseen, I am willing to provide references from others who have purchased from me in the past. Last month, I sold a 1981 CJ7 Laredo to a guy in Michigan, he was happy with me in the whole process and especially with the Jeep once it arrived on the transporter. Overall:This Jeep is beautiful, Rust Free Classic CJ7 Laredo with a lot of promise. If you desire to have a perfect Laredo, repaint it black, relace the decals, find an original top, source some interior parts and you've got yourself a rare and beautiful black $15-20k Laredo!
