Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1966 Mustang A-code coupe. This is a real 4 barrel A-code car that has had a restoration started on it. This project started as a running and driving, completely original, two female owner from new, car. It was sold new at Harpeth Ford in Franklin Tennessee and remained in the family it's entire life being passed from it's original owner to the woman's niece sometime in 1968. It has spent its entire life in central Tennessee. The car has never been hit or repaired for any accident damage. It had been repainted twice in its life but had never been restored. The original make up of this car is as follows; A-code 4 barrel 289 engine, C4 automatic transmission, 3.00 open rear, light blue exterior, two-tone blue interior, AM radio, manual steering, manual brakes, remote mirror option. The original engine block, transmission, rear-end, and four barrel intake manifold are still with the car. So far the car has had the following done to it; A complete brake overhaul with new brake kits, wheel cylinders, and freshly turned drums. The entire body has been sandblasted both inside and out and underneath. Over $3,000 has been invested in metal work alone in the last year. The car received new floors from the toe boards at the base of the firewall all the way to the rear valance. This also includes the seat boxes, trunk rails, the rear light panel, and the rear valance itself. It has also had new full quarter panels installed on both sides. All of the sheetmetal work was done professionally but does need to be finish welded. The floors have been correctly painted in original red-oxide primer both inside and under. The engine compartment has been restored and painted black. Much of the originality and good condition of the car can be seen in the original parts that come with it like the seats ( especially rear ), door panels, and kick panels. Also the exterior trim is almost all in good useable condition and should clean up nicely with a good polishing. This includes the emblems. Again, this restoration was started on a completely original car and, thanks to the female ownership, was never abused, hot rodded, or modified in any way. The dash has not been cut and the original radio was still in place. Every original part that was taken off the car has been packed up or is in the car and comes with it upon sale. Very few parts are missing. A list of some needed parts to complete the car would be; new front fenders, front valance, interior carpet, headliner, windshield, front seat covers, weatherstrip kit, etc. Again, most of the car is there. There is still some rust repair needed in the battery box area as well as the lower part of the passenger side inner fender/lower cowl area. I've done my best to photograph this. But again, almost all sheet metal work is done. The engine block comes with its internals ( crank, rods, ) , the original heads dated 5L10 and 5L4, as well as the very rare A-code only 4 barrel intake. I do not have the distributor, fuel pump, or carburetor, and I only have one exhaust manifold. I don't believe the engine was ever rebuilt, so it would obviously need to be at this point. This is a tremendous value for someone who is interested in restoring a first generation Mustang. The hard work has already been done and paid for, which is a great value in money and time alone, and would be a relatively easy finish for a do-it-yourselfer. Considering the prices of these cars finished, and the rarety of its A-code option, and how far along it is, this is simply a great deal at the buy-it-now price. And you know you'll have an honest car when you're done, as you started with one in the first place. Best of luck and Happy Bidding! PS Delivery is available depending on location of buyer.
