Vehicle Detail

1978 Lincoln Continental Town Car Williamsburg Edition, super condition inside & out, 54,000 miles. 2 owners, custom built for 1st owner. 400 cu inch V-8 engine. 3-speed automatic, a/c, power windows, power seats, power locks, AM radio. Tinted windows, 3-tone color scheme; light tan, a darker tan, and dark brown along the bottom. Immaculate Cordovan leather interior. Slim lighted Opera Windows on rear panels. New tires & brakes. Very smooth ride! 715-587-2919 I purchased this car 3 years ago from it's 93 year old original owner whose name is inscribed on the plaque on the inside dashboard. It was built special for her and to her specifications. She had used it principally to drive her lady friends around afterwhich she would immediately park it in her garage. As a result, neither the vinly or the paint has had any degradation by UV light. It has the 400 inch motor which runs on regular gasoline. It has the original jack concealed in the compartment behind the passenger side rear wheel. It may have been used once, if ever! In that compartment, the cosmoline on the rear fender interior is still soft to the touch. It has tinted windows, and a 3-tone color scheme - a light tan or gold, a darker tan or gold and a dark brown strip along the bottom. It has slim lighted opera windows in the rear panels. It has cigarette lighters everywhere! The rich Cordovan leather interior that Ricardo Monaban used to sing about in the 'Lincoln commercial" is totally immaculate as is the headliner. It has a garaage door opener built into the visor above the driver. It has a deep carpeted trunk with a fairly high opening lip. After purchasing the car, I had new tires installed, new brake pads and rotors, new belts, ignition wires, rotor and condenser, spark plugs, a new radiator, and air-conditioning fluid brought up to contemporary standards. This car has 4-wheel disc brakes. I also had the driver's door lock fixed and a small rust spot removed and renewed under the town car ornament behind the driver's side front fender. That was the only rust on the car. The car does not have the air springs which gave so many problems on the later models. The springs are deep coils, which allow for a very soft, almost floating ride. Yet it is very well controlled and the car steers as though it were on rails. In two trips to Florida from Wisconsin everything has worked beautifully. The only thing that doesn't work properly is the clock. This is a car for a discerning owner who wants a Lincoln he or she can be proud to drive and take to car shows. We have taken it to car shows and it always draws a crowd.
