This car was purchased in June 1985 and has been owned by our family since then. Virtually everything works except for the antenna mechanism. The dash does not have any cracks and the car is virtually rust-free. New tires and rims were placed on car in 2007/ 2008. Interior is in very good condition, especially passenger seat and rear seats. There is a slight dent in left front fender (pictured). On Aug-13-11 at 17:09:40 PDT, seller added the following information: This car was purchased in June 1985 and has been owned by our family since then. Virtually everything works except for the antenna mechanism which fully extends but retracts to about one foot as seen in photos (instead of flush to body). The dash does not have any cracks and the car is visually rust-free. New tires and rims were placed on car in 2003-2005. Interior is in very good condition, especially passenger seat and rear seats. There is a slight dent in left front fender (pictured). Paint is original; there are some scratches on car. Airconditioner, heater and three-speed fan work fine. Note: this BMW was purchased by my father from Metro BMW, St. Paul, Minn. in 1985. He passed away in 1993 and the car has been driven sparingly since then. Therefore the comparatively low miles of 93,403. Also, the Experian report showing of 2,659 miles in 2004 is the same mileage as on the Winnebago County Iowa Title dated 7/10/1985, i.e., the Experian report is incorrect. On Aug-14-11 at 05:59:43 PDT, seller added the following information: The following information has been located on the BMW's maintenance/ repairs: 1) Battery has cut-out date of July 2007 which should be the date of installation by mechanic. 2) Found the following information in Owner's Handbook in my mother's handwriting: "Summer 99 - new clutch Fall 2000 - new alternator 2001 - new hoses Nov. 2002 - new battery" 3) July 2003: Distributor rotor and cap replaced, per repair invoice located. Generally, my best guess is that the car has had little work done on it since around 2003, excepting the replacement of the wheels and tires in approx. 2003-2005, and has been rarely driven in recent years as my mother prefers to drive her newer vehicle. I would expect that the buyer may need to replace rubber components, i.e., hoses, in the coming years. Please note that I am not particularly mechanical.
