Here we have, up for auction, is our 1972 Datsun 240z. You are looking at one of the original cars that started the whole Z revolution. Unlike others for auction, this excellent example, besides Dual Weber carbs , has not been changed from its original, factory setup. Although this car isn't concourse, you will see by the pictures that it would be very difficult to find an example that is this complete, fully functioning, and very solid bodied. This vehicle has a recent inspection,and just got back from an 8 hour road trip in 95 degree weather with no signs of trouble or over heating. The 2.4 liter straight 6 engine has 8000 miles on the rebuilt engine. (this information was disclosed by the previous owner but had no paperwork) Hearing this engine run will back this claim. There is also a new muffler. The engine has also been recently tuned up. The engine runs strong and solid. The less reliable original carbs have been replaced with very reliable dual weber carbs with K&N air filters that have just been cleaned and oiled. It has a very reliable 4 speed transmission with a smooth clutch and smooth shifting. The car is competition orange with white and black interior. The white vynil is in OK condition with a little staining and discoloration and there is one small crack in the middle of the dash that has been repaired. The seats are in excellent condition for being originals. The previous owner had the car repainted in its original color. When we purchased the vehicle it had damage on the passenger door where someone backed into it. The dent has been pulled, bodied, and the paint retouched in a couple ares of the body where there were a few dings, though it has slight imperfections, you must know exactly where to look to see where these were redone. There are a couple of scratches on the front hood, not too noticeable . The Michelin tires still have about 80% of there tread. The rims are fantastic for this car, original steelies with new chrome Z center caps, and new chrome beauty rings.This gives the car a nice vintage look. This car still has the full size spare, jack, and lug wrench, which still look brand new. This car has been very well taken care of with no rust on the solid unibody. The wooden steering wheel, shift knob & parking brake handle have been refinished in a beautiful mohagony tone. As you can see in the picture the odometer shows about 7700 miles. The car actually has 107700 miles but Nissan didn't give room for the next digit to trip, because of this the title says *not actual* miles. There is a little smoke on start up that clears up quickly. The picture of the exhaust tip was taken, with the engine running at 3500 rpms. If you have any questions feel free to call 434-525-7582.
