In nearly likenew condition. Its time to part with my baby. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the FJ40 other than I have become a slave to it. It started off as a passion to own another one since I sold my 74' fj40. I am the third owner of this particular FJ40. I have the original window sticker which is pretty neat. I have more than twice invested than the original sales prices. I learned with this car that you are better off buying a car that has been fixed up vs. fixing up and contracting the work yourself. There is no body rust what so ever. I put a new paint job on about 1 year ago. I had them replace all bolts with stainless steel bolts. The engine is the original straight six/ 4 on the floor that came in it. The color is olive brown. Original color was tan. I chose this original 78' olive brown color for personality. It looks sharp and turns heads. The tan is too original and common for a FJ40. My opinion only. I have owned this FJ since 2007. I have driven to my duck camp and other weekend excursions with no reservations. Only once has it left me stranded which was about 3 months ago when the original altenator decided it was done. I replaced with new OEM altenator and went ahead and installed the new painless wiring harness while it was in shop. Same mechanic has worked on it each and every time ive had something upgraded. There is a little surface rust on under carriage but nothing abnormal or cancer eaten. I have the original jump seats that need to be reinstalled. Leather is in great shape. I had planned on the following upgrades to call it 100% complete. Calf skin seats for front and back seats, new dash board and a state of the art sound system. Possibly an ac. It does has heat. The FJ40 is decked out with all terrain tires with 95% tread and original brand new factory wheels, including spare. I am biased but I can assure you this is a great ride. Im listing the reserve at what I think is a fair price I am willing to take. I would like A LOT more but I am a realist. I reserve the right to not sell to whoever I like as it is for sale locally as well. I hope the next owner will have as much passion for the FJ40 as I have and will take as much care as I have with it. This is a classic and I have really enjoyed it. I have become a slave to my possession of it and it stays in my shop now and comes out only to be washed free of dust and then placed back. SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY.
