Today I have a 78 Datsun longbed pickup. I bought this truck back in March from a man in TN. His brother in law drove it for several years.I really only bought it because the bed was crammed with parts. I have two other Datsuns I'm working on. It runs,but doesn't want to idle until it gets warmed up. It stumbles a little when you press on the gas. I replaced the plug wires,adjusted the valves,and took the carb off and cleaned it. Didn't seem to make much difference.I'm not sure how it drives because I've never had it out of my driveway.(No insurance) The brakes seem to work great. This was the first year for disk brakes and ball joints for these trucks. The body is pretty solid for the most part. It had rust holes around the the rear wheel wells where the bed side walls joined to the inner part. The floors and frame are nice.The interior is pretty clean. The dashboard only has one crack (rare for these trucks) The seat looks like it has the original upholstery,the driver's side has some splits. headliner is good,and so are the door panels.There is the original jack, tools and an owner's manual. I will include a factory service manual too.The paint looks dull because it's the base coat. It needs to be clearcoated to make it shine. The color is burnt orange.
