Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1988 Pontiac Trans Am GTA with Less than 48,100 original miles. This vehicle was stored inside a garage and has never been smoked in. If you want a super clean, correct and original, adult owned, meticulously maintained future collectable or a fantastic daily driver, the is your car. This color combination of white and luggage leather is very desirable. This car is ready for show or go. It turns heads everywhere it goes. You are bidding on a very original, very rare, very collectable and very fine 1988 Pontiac Trams Am GTA. The GTA's are the one of the rarest of the Trans Am's. There were only about 9300 GTA's built in 1988 and only about 2300 had the digital dash option. There are clones out there. Don't be fooled. This is the real thing. I have the original window sticker. This FULLY optioned, mint condition GTA was originally purchased in Kirkland, Washington. It has never seen snow and has barely seen rain. This GTA has been meticulously maintained. There is absolutely no rust or wear any place on this car. This car has only 48,100 ORIGINAL miles and a clean car fax--no wrecks, no leaks, no squeaks, no rattles, no rust; a very tight car. There have been NO modifications to this unmolested, completely stock GTA, except for the rich sounding Magna Flow Cat back dual exhaust system. The 5.0 liter V-8 fuel injected engine is very smooth, very powerful and very fast. I have averaged 26 MPG on trips and 18 to 20 MPG in town-not too bad from American Muscle Car. The rich luggage colored leather interior is absolutely impeccable; no cracks, rips, tears or thin spots anywhere. The interior still smells new! The Optional Power Side bolsters and Power Lumbar supports work perfectly. The Digital dash and steering wheel controls work perfectly. The carpeting and original floor mats are unstained, not faded and show no wear. The Air Conditioning System functions but needs a charge. The T-Tops do NOT leak one drop of water or air and include the original factory sunshades in mint condition. The Yokohama tires and the 4 wheel disc brakes have more than 50% of their life remaining. This GTA is equipped with the Trans Am WS 6 Performance Suspension. This GTA corners like it is riding on rails. It handles better than most imports costing five times as much. The original paint is flawless. The only marks on the car are a few stone chips on the slope of the hood that have been touched up over the years. They are barely noticeable. Also, the drivers’ door was repainted after the previous owner's spouse keyed the door. (Divorced now). There is a small 2 inch crack in the rear spoiler. This is common for these cars. This GTA is perfect mechanically and has just been completely serviced using all correct AC Delco factory original parts. The transmission has just been serviced and shifts like a new car. I have replaced the alternator, radiator, water pump, hoses and belts, distributor and spark plug wires with correct AC Delco Original equipment parts. NO AFTERMARKET PARTS on my baby. Mobil One oil changes with AC Delco filters every 3,000 miles since new. A fresh oil change was done this week. All this was done as preventative maintenance to preserve the car in its as new condition. The car has new brakes and a new Mass Air Flow sensor. I purchased this car as a 50th birthday present to myself 7 years ago. I am an avid car nut and have wanted a Trans AM since 1969. The first 2 generations of Trans AM's have gone completely skyward in price. Hemmings projects the GTA to join them in the next few years. Why am I selling this car? This car would not be listed today but I lost my storage. A friend has been storing the car for me for the past 5 years. I'm a teacher and I cannot afford the cost of a warehouse and I cannot see the car sit out. So I am selling my GTA. I am including both of the original sales brochures, the window sticker, the GM shop manual (not pictured), a Chilton manual and the original owners manual. No warranty is expressed or implied. Fly in and drive it home or I will make myself available to meet your shipper for pick up. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at 305-519-7724 between the hours of 7 AM and 10 PM Eastern or send me an Email to: bob7724@gmail.com Payment Terms: Payment Terms: The successful high bidder will submit a $500.00 non-refundable deposit via PAYPAL within 2 business days of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. Buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due within 5 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle. Acceptable Payment Methods: Cash (In Person), certified check, cashier's check, or bank wire transfer. Buyer is responsible to arrange for and to pay for shipping the vehicle. The AUTOCHECK that eBay forces into each add contains an error. It reports that in 1999 the odometer read 82,000 miles. That is not correct. The emission inspection station that reported this did so in error, the car had 22,000 miles on it at that time-not 82,000. I am in the process of contacting ATUOCHECK to resolve this, but their hierarchy is corporately complex. Following their procedures, I have sent an email which I am told will be responded to in 72 hours from Monday! CarFax shows the error and the explanation. In addition, the number of owners to date is 4 not 8. When the car was embroiled in a divorce proceeding, title was transferred from joint to the husband, from the husband to a relative for safe keeping until the divorce was final. Once finalized, title was again transferred to the husband, whom I purchased the car from. In the meantime, if you have questions or would like to see the car or arrange for an inspection of the car, please don’t hesitate to contact me. If you see the car, you will see that it is an almost new 1988 TransAM GTA. Thank you 1988 88 Pontiac Trans Am GTA Low Mileage Loaded Rare
