1951 Ford Country Squire LAST YEAR FOR PRODUCTION FOR THE "TIMBER SIDED RIDES" There were 29,017 wagons built in 1951. With a retail of $2029 they were the most expensive car of all the Ford models. This also was the first year for the Country Squire name. The station wagon body was built in St. Paul Minnasota then shipped to Ionia Michagan for assembly using Maple and Mahogany wood grown by Ford Motor Company. This three owner woodie spent it's entire life in Ely Minnasota used as a transport vehicle for the Wagon Wheel Resort on Shagawa Lake. Restoration completed five years ago includes a crate 302, C-4 auto trany, Hawthorne Green base coat paint (original Woodie color), all replated chrome, new wire harnes, Coker wide whites, new brakes and master, new wood by Wood n Carr, interior by LeBaron Bonney, and has Dean Torance (Jan & Dean) signature on the dash. In addition to winning several awards, this woodie has been featured in the National Woodie Club publication as well as Old Truck as a feature story on station wagons. Any and all accessories (60's Weber 10' long board) shown with the car are not included in the auction but are available to the winning bidder. The car does have the third seat.
