Vehicle Detail

What we have here is a 1974 Laverda SF2. I purchased this bike several months ago, and to get the bike to road worthiness, the following was done: Correct front and rear CV turn signals were replaced, and function correctly Rear taillight bracket was in sour shape and replaced with a new, correct European spec unit Dual original Brembo front brakes were completely rebuilt, with new seals, pads and a new MC to Splitter line. New Correct Euro front bars fitted Dellortos were rebuilt with correct Dellorto components Battery tray was replaced with correct factory part Rear chain replaced Front fender stay upgraded with new chromed rubber-mount unit (originals were prone to fracturing) New Battery Starter drive fully serviced with new springs and rollers New correct-style fuel petcocks were installed Correct NOS Fiamm dual horns replaced Fork seals replaced New Dunlop D 400 tires and tubes fitted and balanced. Cosmetically, the bike is quite presentable, but as you can see by the photos, the left side of the tank has a minor shallow crease and dimple. The rest of the sheet metal, including the side covers, is very nice. Bike looks to have had a repaint, but appears to have been done in the original factory silver. Frame is generally all original paint, but a bit rough in spots around the rear foot pegs. Motor castings has the usual Laverda dullness from age, but all castings, including front and rear hubs are nice and unmolested, Engine fins are all intact. Compression 158/157. Like most Laverdas, engine is leak free. Frame is in nice shape, straight, and free of any stress cracks. The originally fitted small luggage mounting tabs found under the seat were missing, but are easily replaced. Original 18" Borranis are in nice shape with a few minor nicks, but nothing major, and will polish up well. Spokes clean, straight and corrosion-free. Rotors are nice. Header pipes and chain gaurd could use replating, but are sound, and original LaFranconis are in nice shape wiih a few small dings. Seat cover is new, sourced from Great Britain, and was professionally fitted. Fiberglass seat pan is in nice shape. All stainless is nice, with some minor scratches and stains, but very presentable. All electrics, including hi/low, directionals, brake lights, and horn work correctly. Tach and speedo are smooth. Engine and frame numbers are matching, and it has a clear Texas title. The bikes starts, runs, shifts and stops as it should, with clutch and brake action firm and positive. If you are at all familiar with these bikes, you know they are extremely well built, pull like a freight train, and fast. This one is no exception. This SF2 is one of two bikes I will be listing on ebay including a roundcase, as I no longer ride and will be liquidating all my motorcycles. I have sold motorcycles in the past on ebay and enjoy great feedback because I endeavor to describe them accurately. Please feel free to email with detailed questions, and I will respond in detail as quickly as possible. I will be happy to assist the winning bidder in terms of working with his shipper, but I cannot arrange shipping, nor can I crate the bike. I reserve the right to cancel any bids from bidders with zero, low, or excessive negative feedback, and to remove the bike from auction at any time provided it has not yet reached reserve. Good luck bidding and thanks for looking at my auction!
