I'm moving abroad, that's the only reason why I'm selling this car. It's an 86 190D 2.5 5 cylinder 5 speed European version. It was imported to the States sometime in the early 90's and converted to USDM specs(headlights, speedometer, etc) and spent most of it's life in Florida. That's why most of the clearcoat is gone, but more importantly, that's why it's a RUST FREE CAR. Someone hit the car n the rear a while ago and the PO tried to "fix it" himself. I was actually about to have that fixed and the car painted, but this work opportunity came along. The car was a huge improvement from the w123. It is alot quiter, faster, handles better and even gets better MPG. I drove it from NYC to Houston and back and the only problem was that the A/C broke, otherwise I could do 110mph like it was 70mph... smooth as silk and straight as an arrow. Plenty of torque and very predictable. At 80mph I got 37mpg and at 55mph it get over 40 mpg. It has E320 limited edition wheels and the two rear tires are worn. Brand new drilled brake rotors and brake pads. New filters, K&N air filter, new synthetic oil for the motor, transmission and differential. The A/C doesn't work, the speedometer doesn't work(I have a new speedo cable), one window doesn't work(I have a motor and regulator), the housing of the third brake light broke(I have another one), the back of the driver sit is missing(I also have another one) and the volume on the radio doesn't work too well. That's all I know that is wrong with the car.. I had big plans with this car.. 2.5L turbo engine and interior and exterior from a Cosworth. You can't imagine how hard it is to find a Euro 2.5 stick 190D with no rust in the Northeast. I REALLY hope it goes to someone that can look over the faded paint and see it's potential. By the way.. I also have a set of 15" AMG rims with brand new 205/50R15 tires(100 or so miles on them) available for sale.
