Vehicle Detail

I am selling my 1968 AMC Rebel 770 6 passenger station wagon. It is a true unmolested survivor. It has a 290 2 barrel V8, 3 speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, working air-conditioner and heater. It has the original paint - Matador Red with Classic Black insert and the original red interior with split bench reclining front seats. They made 4928 Rebel 770 wagons in 1968 but, few with this wonderful color scheme. I am the 3rd owner, the 1st owner bought it in Texas and moved to California in 1970, which explains the blue and white license plates instead of the black and white plates for 1968. It has spent most of its life in the bay area. It spent most of its life in a carport, which is why the red paint on the tailgate is faded and the rest of the car is fine. The 2nd owner purchased the car from the original owner after he could no longer drive. When I bought the car approx 5 years ago, I had the brakes, front end and air conditioner fixed. The car runs well and smooth, all gears shift smoothly. I have only put a few hundred miles on the car since I have owned it, due to taking care of my parents. I feel it is better to let someone else be able to enjoy the car then to have it sit around and deteriorate. The car is very straight and no rust or bondo anywhere. Like I said, it is an original paint car. There are plenty of door nicks and scratches. There is a small indent on top of the driver’s fender, like a ball or something dropped on it. It looks like the original owner tried to cover up some of the nicks on the red paint with finger nail polish – doesn’t quite match. I bought one of those black paint pens from Kragen and did some cover up on the scratches and door nicks a few years ago to protect them. You can tell up close. Like I said, this is a 20 footer original paint car. Looks fantastic at 20 feet, even 10 it looks good. The seams on the seats are starting to separate on both front and back seats, but are still soft and should be able to sew back up. Carpet is good and there is 1 split in each rear plastic cargo panel as shown. The driver side passenger door only opens from the inside. I have not taken the panel off to see if the linkage has just come loose or if the door handle needs to be replaced (pot metal). Parts can be found easily for this. The antenna was broken off when I bought the car. I do have an antenna I have resting under the dash as seen in the pictures. The vacuum wipers don’t work and didn’t when I bought the car, but the motor can be rebuilt. Gas and temperature gauge do work as well as the speedometer and odometer. Important Details: The title is free and clear. The car will be released once payment has completely cleared my bank. Payment is to be made in 7 days. Wire transfers clear faster than Money Orders and the car needs to be picked-up two weeks after the payment has cleared. If you do not have the funds, do not bid. I will not wait for you to sell something to come up with the payment. The car is in "As Is, Where Is Condition." I am Not Offering a Warranty, and it's up to the buyer to ask any questions if I have forgot to mention something in the description. I have an almost perfect feedback score and I would like to keep it that way. Please ask if you have any questions, check my feedback Thanks and Happy Bidding! I DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL!!
