1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractible Hardtop The data plate for this car indicated the engine is a 312 CI, when in fact it a 292 CI, bored over .030 292 with 010 undersized main & rod bearing. New pistons, rings, cam and lifters. The carburetor is correct (holly 4500 4 bbl) for a 312 CI as are the intake and exhaust manifolds and air cleaner. The present displacement is approximately 296 CI. The color on the data plate indicates the car is Raven Black & Colonial White with a red airweave vinyl interior. The exterior at some point in time was changed to Flame Red and Colonial White with the correct interior. **odometer was re-set to zero at the time we rebuilt the engine and transmission. On Jul-25-11 at 16:14:42 PDT, seller added the following information: The 5 five wide whitewall radial tires are new. The brake shoes are new and also the brake hydraulics. The retractable top works as it was intended to work. The 7 reversible motors have been inspected and work properly. The flexible drive shafts connecting the drive transmissions to the various components have been cleaned, inspected, and lubricated, as were the transmissions themselves. The 10 power relays have been inspected and tested and work properly. The 12 limit switched have been inspected and adjusted. The 4 screw jacks (2 for the roof and 2 for the deck lid) have been cleaned, lubricated and adjusted. Most of the weather stripping has been replaced. Also, the interior door and interior quarter panels have been replaced. The car will come with all of the applicable service and repair manuals. Also included is a set of four video tapes showing the operation, the diagnosis, repair, and the adjustments of all of the components of the retractable top.
