Up for auction is a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable hardtop. I found this in a recent purchase of several cars, it was purchased from the original owner around 1965 and was driven until 1969/70 and then parked inside where it sat until I purchased it. This car is very original and complete, however the original motor 312 4v is included in this auction but the previous owners put a mustang 289 in it and that is the motor currently installed, I haven't tried to turn it over yet. Some of the power top parts work and some do not. I have available (not included in this auction) a complete hard top and trunk lid, and front windshield. Some extra electrical parts for the top. (see the pics, but remember these aren't included in this auction.) The car has been repainted one time, the original colors, Raven Black and Colonial white, there is a few areas of body filler down low on the rear quarters, There is obvious rust in the quarters, rockers, headlight buckets and fenders, but not bad for the year. This car is in need of a restoration but is a good candidate for a solid restoration. There is some spots here and there underneath in the trunk pan and floor pans but it isn't terrible, not huge areas missing just some holes needing patches. The worst is in the trunk where the trunk pan meets up the quarters. The frame seems very solid with surface rust. The rust pictured on the underside of the hood is only surface rust. The rear fender skirts are included and pictured. The interior is Black Airweave vinyl, it was recovered at some point to what you see. The interior seems complete. There are couple small holes in the headliner on the passenger side. Have front mat as well as back. The lights work, inside and out, Top switch works, so the electrical is in good condition. The tires are Either new reproductions or NOS B.F. Goodrich Silvertown 8.00-14 4 ply polyester tubeless white walls , the rears were installed on the rims a while ago but never driven and the fronts were just put on today I still have the stickers on them, it wasn't driven but only rolled around on them.
