It was a lightweight and nimble handling rear-engine rear-wheel-drive 2 door sports car, available in hardtop and convertible configurations. Design innovations continued during the years of manufacture, contributing to its motorsports success and popularity. Production ended in April of 1965 with the 356C. Chassis No. 221489 is a highly desirable SC Coupe finished in factory correct Bali Blue over blue leatherette upholstery. Numbers-matching as confirmed by Porsche COA, this well presented driver was the recipient of an extensive ground up cosmetic and mechanical restoration some time ago. Body & Paint: During the restoration the coupe’s body was completely stripped and refinished to the straight, well sculpted shell you see today, and re-finished in factory original Bali Blue. All rubbers and seal were replaced and the original glass reinstalled. Interior: Complimenting the glossy blue paint, the Coupe’s well-equipped cabin displays revived upholstery and carpeting with factory Blaupunkt radio (non-functional) and instrumentation. Engine and Mechanicals: The more powerful “Super” motor fitted in this example is a very rare and attractive option among Porsche enthusiasts. It’s wide powerband and peppy acceleration makes for an exciting driver on any road! A complete rebuild and refreshing of the engine components and seals was commissioned during the restoration. Dellorto carburetors were fitted (originals included with sale), along with a new Bosch ignition system and muffler. The previous owner stated that the mileage of 22,000 is original but we cannot confirm this. It has a great inspection report showing compression results of 100-110 on all cylinders. This wonderful driver is accompanied by tools and roll, tire gauge, Driver’s Manual, workshop manual, date-coded spare, jack with jack tool, and Porsche COA. Notable features include vented chrome wheels, disk brakes, outside mirror, and a very well presented overall finish! SC coupes are becoming very hard to find!
