Vehicle Detail
1968 Dodge Charger Project with 318 engine and tranny "No Reserve" I"m starting the bidding at .99. Good luck to all. Serious bidders only please. I'm listing my 1968 Dodge Charger Project car with a dated 1968 318 motor and tranny. Take a look at the pics and you can see that this car has the normal rust/rot issues. All of you car guys know that it's just metal, which means it can be replaced. I just got done building a 1969 Dodge Charger with my father and we used this car for some parts. I would really love to keep it and build it one day with my son, but I don't have the space to let it sit until that day comes. If you have the time, and especially the money to put into it, then this will be a good deal for you. I don't have a title for the car, but I have a bill of sale from the previous two owners of the car along with some documentation dating back when the car was serviced at Midas back in 97.. as well as some other documentation from the woman who owned it with the registration dating in 87. Also, there is a letter from the NY police department that ran checks on the VIN to ensure the previous owner that the car was not stolen or wasn't any insurance claims on the car. I will provide you with a Bill Of Sale as well as all the other documentation I received when I bought it. I was told that the 318 engine and tranny is original to the car, however since in 1968 cars didn't have to have VIN #'s on the engine and tranny for 318's, I cannot prove it. It is stamped and dated 1-15-1968 on the engine block. I tried looking for the serial numbers next to the tranny, but researched online that 318's didn't have the numbers to prove it. You'd have to run some numbers to see if the build date for the engine kind of matches the build date for the car... Anyway, the engine and tranny will be going with the car. The previous owner had it in a shed and when I received it it has been covered up and blocked from earth's elements... The roof has been cut off the car pretty clean, and will just need the roof replacement that they sell. As you can see in the pics, basically all the metal will need some attention in some way. The back panel where the back lights are is in pretty good shape. Surface rust, small hole on top repairable, and a small dimple that I see. That piece alone is valuable as a part. I believe repops for that panel is 500.00! The front right wheel is stuck, I believe the break is stuck on that side. The other three wheels are free rolling. Parts that are included: I took pics of all the parts lying in the grass that come with the car. I'll highlight some of them here: front grill clipheadlight vacuum pieces (next to grill clip in pic)back glass, door glass, vent glass (door glass and vent glass appear to be factory green tint) A bunch of chrome ( I never unrolled the tape holding it together, not sure if it's all there, but a nice chunk is)steering column window regulatorsback bumper2 front 1969 Charger fendersreplacement frame rail for under passenger seat (pictured right next to piece rotted on passenger side)Drive Shaft, yoke, and crossmember (pictured next to engine)Complete 1968 318 Engine and tranny (pictured) From what I can see, the motor mounts are still on the engine a few headliner bowsIf I come across anything else that belongs to the car that I might have missed I will list it here. Any other questions please e-mail and I'll do my best to answer. The winning bidder will take all responsibility for shipping this car or picking it up. The car needs to be picked up and paid for within 7 days of the close of the auction.
