Vehicle Detail
Being sold by its third owner, this 1939 Ford Deluxe Tudor is all original Ford steel. With the exception of one very small scratch and an even smaller dent, the body is in excellent condition. No rust anywhere. Under the hood, a small block Chevy engine has been installed using a Hurst front-mount so there was no need to weld in motor mounts and an electric fuel-pump is used so the frame did not need to be cut for a stock placement pump. The engine is a Chevy 283ci (bored to 292ci) with a newly rebuilt tri power set-up running progressive linkage, and the distributor has been converted to electronic. Other than that, the engine is basically stock. It has a brand new clutch assembly and a complete rebuild of the original transmission, (I was going to install a TH350, but stayed with the good ol' stock floor-shifter. Really glad I did. Everytime I drive this car I'm taken back in time and memories. Newer automatic transmissions just don't do that). The rear-end is the original "banjo". Brand new exhaust from engine to chrome tips. Up front, it has a 4" dropped axle and a mono-leaf spring. Front and rear springs both have reversed eyes. Other than being converted to a 12 volt system, you could put in a stock axle and spring, and since no frame modifications have been made, (as previously mentioned), drop in a flathead motor and you would have a complete and original stock '39 Ford. The complete, original flathead engine, apart and in boxes, is also available. The brakes are all new as are the radial wide-white wall tires. The interior and trunk has been completely redone within the past year and is done in a period-correct appearing material but is much softer and more comfortable than the original mohair. ......SORRY, NO TRADES..... There have been several questions about what color the car is. It does appear abit lighter and "washed out" in the pictures than it actually is, (my fault. good camera/bad photographer). It has more brown to it and is definitely BEIGE in color. Questions and inquires are encouraged and will be answered to the best of my ability. On Jul-18-11 at 08:27:30 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE: I will be away from the 21st through the 24th of July during which time this auction will close. Consquently, I suggest any questions/inquires be sent prior to the 21st so I will be able to reply to them. "Thanks for your interest" to all the folks (alot!!) who are watching this auction.....On Jul-20-11 at 09:39:16 PDT, seller added the following information: I've received several inquires about the reserve price. The reserve is set at $26,500. That is: 1) The least price acceptable, 2) A couple thousand less than it's listed for on HotRodHotLine.com, 3) Much less than you will see others sell for, (I need the money).
