Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1978 Honda XL175. This is a great little bike and fun to ride! I do not have a title for this bike and it is more difficult to get a title than I had anticipated (at least in Wisconsin). The bike is not perfect but I feel as though it would be a great candidate for restoration. The bike is almost complete. The side covers are missing and the seat is torn in a couple of places. Also, I had covered the bike over the winter with a tarp at my parents house. When I took the tarp off it had a silver dust all over the bike, almost like fine silver paint flakes. I have no idea where it came from but it is now there. The silver haze is on the cables, tank, and seat. It isn't that noticeable on the chrome areas, but it is there as well. I think this silver haze could be buffed out but I haven't had the time to try. The tail light lense is broken on the bottom and the screws are missing. The previous owner basically just zip tied the lense to the bracket. The high beam on the headlight does not work (only low beam). The blinkers work but they are very slow and faint. The horn works but very low and faint. I am thinking that the battery needs to be charged but I am not a mechanic so I don't know for sure. The petcock seems to be upside down or backwards. When the fuel is turned on it acts as though it is on reserve. When it is on reserve the bike runs fine. Not sure what is going on with that. The clutch may need to be adjusted too. The previous owner had sprayed a thin coat of paint on the plastic. It can be peeled off with my thumb nail. I think he did it to preserve the plastic. The bike starts on the first couple of kicks and runs great! This is a fun little bike to ride and it would be great to get a replacement title for it. I would do it but it is taking more time than what I wanted it to take and I made a deal with my wife that if I purchased a different bike that I had to sell this one. I am selling this bike without a reserve so bid to win! Please keep in mind that there is NO TITLE. Bill of sale only.
