I am selling my 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400HO Convertible "clone" This daily driver is powered by a Pontiac 400ci with a Munci 4sp manual shift transmission and posi traction rear end with what i believe is a 3.73 gear and yes it does come with that infamous "Rock Crusher" 3rd gear whine. This car has been restored back to its original factory burgandy color with a hint of Pearl to give it that custom resto mod look. Base coat clear coat by Evolution Autobody, a leader in the restoration business. Even under the hood had been painted to match body color for that mod look. Edelbrock performer intake and matched 4bbl carb with matching Edel valve covers and air cleaner are tastefully done with lots of custom chrome in the engine bay, makes for that great show car look. Newly updated Accel HEI ignition. Thorley nickel plated headers and full 2-1/2" Flowmaster exaust gives this bird that deep muscle car sound with the performance to be expected. This car had been lowered 2" and rides on air. 17" 5 spoke Cragar wheels gives it that old school look. Daytona ZR 245/45 - 17's in back and 225's in front. Tread is in good condition with the exception of a few war wound's from the wider wheels and low ride that do rub now and then. Factory black convertible power top had been replaced during the restoration a few years back and is in great condition as well as the factory original black interior, not perfect but close. The underside of this daily driver had been sound proofed and/or rust inhibited due to the fact that i didnt not want to deal with stone chips and constant maintainance. I do not want to over sell this Bird. It is not your concours perfect trailer queen show car but true classic head turner. This daily driver will make you a great weekend cruiser. Very reliable,strong,complete,great looking and sounds awesome. The 400HO convertable had become a very rare collectable so act now, the "tributes" do not last long at auction.
