Vehicle Detail

Whatever your goal or project - from Hot August Nights , to camping out, to hauling trash - this may be the best starter classic truck you could get for whatever you have in mind. 1972 Chevy 3/4 ton. Very strong running, clean, straight, never altered, ready for whatever you want to do. Fix her up, or git down and dirty right now - it's all good. She's ready. Features: V8 - 350 4BBL - carb just rebuilt. 3 spd Auto transmission - strong positive shifts - (PRNDL2L1)Long bedOverload springs8 bolt wheels front & rearHeavy duty towing hitch - welded in place - with wiringNEW front windshield (That was not cheap!!!)Reupholstered bench seatRear window is a camper pass-thru two-slider deal.Original paint, no rust, no bodywork - non restored truck. The drive train is strong. Engine compression is good, judging from key-off to engine stop.Tranny shifts are positive and solid - the thing drives greatBrakes are very strong - stops on a dime!Tach and everything in dash works wellTires - 1/2 tread on all four, roughly speakingNO RUST. This thing can't even spell the word rust - anywhere! CA truck; never east of NV I'd guess. Perhaps best, it hasn't been butchered with modifications. It is completely restorable - or customizable. Issues:The seals on the doors & windows need to be replaced. (Nevada bakes them in the sun...)The vinyl on the dash is cracked - needs to be replaced (Baked in the sun)The stereo and speakers are an after-market deal - not professionally done. The PRNDLL indicator for the gear shift is broken... (heat I suspect)... but I have itThe steeing wheel has a number of cracks in it... (Heat - did I mention this is a Nevada truck? ;-)The left (passenger) front fender indicator light is wrong... all others Ok.No rear bumperNo spare tire FYI:Bolt / screw holes in the outside of the bed indicate that at some point it carried a camperBolt / screw holes inside the bed indicate that at some point it had a 5th wheel hub. I'm a new owner; know little about the history other than I got it from a mechanic who was going to restore it - before the economy went south and his funds dried up. I got a deal and did a little work - and now you can too. Low reserve - high potential. Researching the VIN: Difficult at this age. But if you drop the first "C" - then according to this site:http://67-72chevytrucks.com/Chevyear.html#vinYou get:2 wheel drive (yes)V8 (yes)3/4 ton (yes)1972 (title agrees)Fremont, CA assembly plant (lack of rust would agree)#130,578 from that plant, that year, that model, etc...That's the best I've been able to find. Ask anything and I'll answer. NOTE: Work 5am to 6pm PDT - can only answer emails in the evening. Please bear with me - I WILL get you any answers required, if I possibly can. This is a GOOD old-school truck. Good luck to you!!!p.s... I personally wouldn't have any hesitation about driving this home no matter where you are. If you need it delivered - I just might do that. (But if I'm going to Georgia or somewhere significantly East - we need to talk. 'Course, we have family back there so... ;-)
