Vehicle Detail
1952 Cadillac Coupe de Ville for sale I am in the middle of moving out of the country for several years, and I cannot keep my Cadillacs. This car I purchased because it was a largely intact example of a 1950-53 Coupe deVille. I never got around to restoring it (or doing much but starting it up and driving it around the neighborhood), but I cannot afford to store it for the next few years. I struggled with the idea of storing it, but I'm stretched too thin --- so I'm selling close to the time I need to leave. The car was a low mile vehicle stored outside for an extended period, resulting in most of the issues mentioned in the "Bad" section below. The previous owner said he had driven the car in and around San Francisco, but I did not want to drive it more than around the block without seat belts or inspecting the brakes (they worked fine when I drove it around, but you can never be too careful). The biggest downside to this car is that you will need to move it by the 14th of July, or make arrangements to store it local to the 94070 area (San Carlos, CA) GoodLow original miles ( < 58,000 on odometer, given the wear on pedals, and no contraindicating documents this seems accurate)Solid running motor & transmission seems to be shifting fineEquipped with power seats and power windowsEquipped with pushbutton radio and rear speakerEquipped heater and rear blower (in good condition)Largely solidLargely completeHydraulic pump is present and intact - it looks like it should work - but the windows don't seem toInterior pieces are original and sufficiently intact to create patterns fromAll trim around windows, on top of doors, etc, is in present and in good conditionSolid trunk, including much of the original liningBadRust on the driver's floor - see the hole in the picturesCar was left sitting for a long time, so the power features seem frozen (with 3 of 4 windows down)Interior needs to be reupholsteredSome rust spots on the lower rear quarter panel on the driver's sideRust on various pieces of interior trimA few pieces of trim may be missingThe car was never properly non-oped, so if you register it for use in California, you will owe the DMV fees for ~2 yearsOtherStill uses the original 6 volt systemBattery loses a charge after a short period of time - the car will start if I use my charger on the battery first - it runs fine and will re-start, but the battery drains over the next couple of hoursNothing is wrong with the antenna - I unscrewed it and laid it flat on the fender to keep it from being caught on/bent by the car cover
