1961 Metropolitan Nash 2 door coupe. I was told this car was owned by two owners the last being from south central minnesota( glenville). He owned the car for 4 years and used it in parades and pleasure driving. He told us the car was repainted in 1981 from beige and white to yellow and white. The metro looks great from 5 feet away but once you are right next to the car you can see some minor flaws. I pulled the carpets up and noticed that the floor pans were repaired at one time, and got under the car, and noticed that the car was undercoated at one time. (probable rust repair) .It is a numbers matching car that is great for a entry level collector who wants a sunday driver. I picked it up after sitting for the winter in a enclosed garage. I drove it on the trailer, brought it home and stored it until three weeks ago. I went out to start the car and it fired right up. It has a aftermarket fuel pump with a toggle switch to turn it on. I drove it around town locally a few miles. It shifted fine and the brakes stopped the car. The wipers and radio do not work but they are there. I did hear some exhaust noise but nothing too bad or major. The tires are decent and the interior seems to be all there. It had seat covers put over the old upholstry in 1981. As I stated, this is an entry level car that I would take to a mechanic to make sure it is fully road worthy, but it does drive as the video will show. I do not want to overcall or undercall this metro. I have set my reserve so that the car will sell to leave you room to put money in it to make it a great everyday driver. I drove the metro up to 60mph and it steered good. I heard no clunks or road noises. The windows operate and go up and down but there is a crack in the windshield. I noticed a small gas leak coming from the gas tank. (I would re-seal, clean, or replace the gas tank) I saw no oil leaks and I did not notice any smoke, engine noise, or misses. The doors, trunk, and hood open and shut the way they should. The chrome bumpers and emblems look good with no pitting or major flaws I can see. The car has four new hubcaps.
