Cleaning out my stable this month and here's a sweet one. This is a 1970 Ford tilt cab truck with a custom dovetail bed. This truck came out of Tennessee and was restored by a company who builds custom trailers. The bed is incredible. Three ramps extend from the back allowing you to load a variety of tractors, vehicles or mowers. The truck has a FT series 361 engine with the forged crank. Super tough engine with lots of torque. It also has an Allison automatic transmission that makes it super easy to drive. The bed has LED lights, loading lights, pockets for picket rails and a full steel band for straps or tie downs. The flooring is treated 2x6's. It has fold out steps on each side to climb up, and has a storage compartment for straps, etc. I installed drop down stiff legs on the back using crank trailer jacks to stabilize it when loading heavy items. I've had a variety of cars, tractors and other equipment on it with no issues. She has good tires all the way around, and I have six extras in as good or better shape to throw in for the winning bidder. The cab has some typical rust, although not major. The seat is in perfect shape, and the glass, gauges, etc. are all good. This truck will not win any races, she is slow but gets there fine. Occasionally she will vapor lock if you let it idle for a long time. I've considered adding an electric fuel pump and relocating the fuel line to fix, but just haven't had the time. Has a rebuilt carburetor and new fuel pump. Has air brakes that build pressure quick and work properly. Also has power steering. My wife could easily operate this truck, drives as easily as a half ton once you get over the steering wheels being behind you! A good looking, good operating old truck for someone who wants something with a little character and needs to haul whatever. Let me know your questions. It's 13' long on the flat part, with an additional 5' of dove tail - so 18' long.
