You are bidding on a 1961 Ford Starliner - 352 cu in 2 bbl carb - 3-speed with overdrive - black with black and white interior - 59698 miles on the odometer -- when i bought this car about 8 years ago it was considered a barn find - it had the original factory black paint and factory interior - the body and frame is totally rust free - meaning there is not one panel or part that ever had any rust - all cars have surface rust and this one is no exception to that -- this car has never been in any accidents or had any body repair - this car is original and rock solid - the following is what has been done to the car 1- bumpers and all stainless trim removed -- rechromed bumpers and polished all the stainless trim -- all the glass is good --window frame stainless could use some buffing -- 2- removed the factory black paint and repainted the car its original color - black - the paint is one year old base coat clear coat done by a professional paint shop -- the paint finish is excellent -- please note that there are two places on the paint that need touching up -- one on the trunk and one on the driver front fender 3- i had an upholstery shop put in a new interior and headliner and a new carpet kit - a similar match to the original on the upholstery - door panels look great - close to the factory design 4- the engine starts right up and runs fine - the transmission shifts in all gears - engine and driveline are all original and have never been worked on other then i had the radiator rebuilt and cleaned the carb to get the car running -- there are no leaks from the engine or trans or rearend -- this car has set for many years and no fluids are found on the ground. CAR WILL DRIVE ON AND OFF TRAILER - for shipping purposes 5 - the 16" wheels and tires are new -- american racing THIS IS WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO THE CAR 1 - the interior dome light installed - the ign switch installed ( i just cannot get this item to install for me - maybe its because i am 70 or i just met my match - there was a time i able to do this ) -- the padded dash pad is starting to raise up from the interior window trim on each end - this is an easy fix or just take the pad off completely and then paint the dash - either way one has to be done -- the dash itself is 100% complete but could use a good detailing 2- the stainless trim could use better alignment along the sides -- the exterior could use a good buffing and then install the letters and script ( i have all that and it goes with the car ) the underside of this car is all original and still has the factory undercoating -- it needs to be detailed -- the engine is all original and never tampered with - it needs to be completely detailed -- the fuel tank needs to be rinsed out and then hooked up to the fuel line -- to run the car now i am using a 1 gallon gas can for fuel to the engine -- the brakes on this car are perfect - plenty of brake pedal NOW YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BIDDING ON -- the cost to finish this vehicle is mostly all labor -- very little out of pocket money to make this a beautiful starliner -- very rare to find a totally rust free classic car -- the true value of this car is much more then the reserve price i have set -- if you are serious and want more information email me your phone number and i will call you or i will send you my number -- i have no problem in putting a buy it now price on the car with someone that i have talked with -- i require a 250.00 non-refundable paypal payment as soon as the auction ends -- if you should change your mind and not complete the sale that is fine with me -- the non - refundable 250.00 will cover the auction expense -- On Jul-03-11 at 18:34:21 PDT, seller added the following information: if you will look at the trim on the hood it is in poor condition -- i forgot to mention that i have a new stainless hood trim that goes with the car -- i did not have time to put it on before the auction ---
