Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is an older restoration Mustang. It has not been titled since 2006; rather, it has been in storage in Oklahoma and now in North Carolina since that time. It has been 90% restored, and with a few additional items it will be complete! The odometer reads just over 61,000 miles, but I cannot verify this is accurate. Given the condition of the body and frame, it is entirely possible that these are original miles. Having owned and restored many older Mustangs in the past, I can state that this particular car is extremely solid; for example, the doors close nicely with no rattle, all the hardware is firm and works as you would expect, the trunk is clean and solid, and the undercarriage is clean an free of rust or repair. The tires have very low miles, and the styled steel wheels look great. The prior owner, when restoring the car, added some GT touches but I am quite sure this is not a GT car from the factory. The engine is a stock 289 cubic inch, 2 barrel carb motor. The previous owner installed a set of headers which lead to a non-stock dual exhaust setup. The car fires right up and idles nicely with a bit of a rumble to it! The interior is in great conditon; there are no rips or tears in the seats, carpeting, headliner, or dash pad. The chrome looks great; there is no rust or pitting on the bumpers or any of the exterior chrome trim. The right rear fender has a small crease (looks like someone leaned something heavy against the car at one time). Some things to be completed on this car: the dash lights are not currently working, and the AM radio, while working, is not factory stock. The front and rear brakes need maintenance (I may be able to help with that) and the 4 new KYB shocks need to be installed. If I were to drive this car daily, I would also have the front end aligned, but that's not mandatory. One important note is that the data plate that should be located on the driver's side door has been removed (not sure when this happened.) Eventually the motor should be freshened up with new rings, but that's for the new owner to decide. Call anytime after 5:00 PM during the week, or anytime at all on the weekend to arrange for a viewing of this nice little pony car! I have many more detailed pictures to share; contact me with your e-mail address and I will send them along. (919) 817-9392 is the number to call. On Jul-04-11 at 11:08:18 PDT, seller added the following information:The car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early, if a local buyer beats the highest bid.
