For your consideration Is a one owner 1972 Volvo 1800E I purchased (March 25 2010) from an estate. Car had been stored since 1989, and only had 047548 documented original miles. Car was purchased by Dale Barnstad from Ray Tanner Motors March 21 1972 here in Phoenix Arizona, I have the original bill of sale, Dealer window sticker showing factory equipment and suggested price as well as dealer added equipment window sticker, original pre purchase dealer keys and key chain,Original licence plate still registered to car with one year remaining on tag. ( see pictures) Also pictured is AZ emissions test, passed with 1/4 of allowable.( good for one year) This car is completely rust free, Never had rust, never had rust repair,has all original body,as to be expected from a car that has spent its life in Arizona. The undercarriage is original ( no undercoat/paint to hide rust/damage) and like new.That being said AZ is hard on paint and rubber.So after 38 years the paint was so faded it had to be painted (paint code 105 gold metallic) as well as having been in storage ( unused) for 21 years everything fuel/rubber, brakes/suspension had to be serviced or replaced. ( 90% replaced) Because this car was in such remarkable condition when I purchased it the restoration goal was to keep as much original/stock as possible. There is nothing on this car that is not original/stock ( except hardened valve seats and pertronix electronic ignition) I have installed new MoMo wheels with new Yokohama tires but have the original wheels. First work completed was fuel and brakes. Fuel system work (complete overhaul) Tank removed and cleaned,fuel pump (original) rebuilt, new filter,all rubber lines replaced,solid lines cleaned,new injectors,new pressure regulator.second filter added in engine compartment. Brake work includes all new flex lines, new master, new pads ( 4 wheel disc) serviced calipers. The engine ran great but front and rear main seals were leaking and valve seals needed replacing so I rebuilt the head ( new hardened valve seats) to start then decided to rebuild whole engine (stock specs) Rebuilt engine has 712 miles and counting. Car is driven daily and now has 051762 miles. Transmission has been serviced and adjusted, new kick down cable installed. Transmission shifts very smooth and car goes 65 MPH at 3500 RPM smooth and comfortably. The interior is untouched original in great condition. There are a few issues such as a cracked upper dash, rear seat fold down tabs have damaged the interior wheel well covering, the drivers seat has a small tear on the side of the head rest,there is some fading and cracking ( nothing major) on the bucket seats, right door pocket elastic band has stretched. I would rate the interior as a 8.5 out of 10. The exterior is in great condition. All original trim is excellent with the exception of a dent on front bumper( minor) All glass is original Volvo ( new rubber seals on side glass). New seals include doors, trunk, hood, lights, front grill and bumper grommets. The paint is in acceptable condition but there are some chips (very small) and the left rear quarter suffered some damage from a separated tire. The paint job was not the best and I should have done more research for a better paint shop. (you get what you pay for) However all trim, lights, side glass and bumpers where removed for painting the car. There is a crack in the right rear tail light lens. The suspension work includes new front upper/lower control arm bushings, upper/lower ball joints,both tie rods and all four tie rod ends,shocks, idler arm bushings, steering box bushing and seal. Car is in great running/driving condition and is a solid 9 out of 10. All electrical systems,lights, gauges work except clock and radio. AC is ice cold and pumps out 58 deg F in 110 deg F outside temp. Please check out my sellers feedback and bid with confidence that car is as described. The Guinness book of records lists a Volvo P1800 as most miles, the owner has over 2.85 million ( yes million) miles. A testament to Volvo reliability. The mat is in rough shape ( split down the middle) The spare tire cover is in excellent condition.The tool kit bag is in great condition but only contains socket and leaver for removing tires.
