Up for auction is a very nice 1980 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel with 131,000 miles. This vehicle is a Southern car with all original paint except for the right fender that looks to be the original which hasn't ever been removed, but possibly had a dent repaired and the rt front door was then blended below the moulding. This repair seems to have been completed many years ago, so it matches the rest of the car pretty well. Ther is no major rust, the strut towers, front frame horns, floor panels, rear quarters, and rocker panels are all rust free. Ther is slight surface rust all over the car in different areas from sun damage and polishing of the original paint. The interior is tan and also in very good condition. The seats are in above average condition with one minor sign of wear in the drivers seat base. All door panels are intact, carpet is clean, all other seats in excellent condition, and the headliner is perfect. The sunroof operates nice and smooth as it should and does not leak. The dash does have usual cracking found in almost all older Volkswagens. This car runs and drives excellent, has plenty of power and the transmission shifts well, and the clutch feels strong. Maintnence that has been done includes new drive belts, air filter, brake fluid flush, valve cover gasket, fuel filter, proper oil service with factory filter, exhaust hangers, and has had a recent timing belt. This car has 4 near new matching tires. The car tracks straight down the road and has no unusual vibrations. Everything on the car works as it should including the AC. This vehicle runs great!!! It has the 1.5L Diesel engine and will achieve average fuel economy in the 40-45mpg range.
