1955 Oldmobile 88 two-door sedan. This is a one owner original car, bought brand new on 2/25/1955 at Coulter Motors, 320 N. Central Ave. in Phoenix, Arizona. This little Olds has been in storage since 1987 when the owner and his wife were tragically taken away while walking back from the grocery store and hit in a crosswalk by a driver who was blinded by the Sun. Their daughter parked the car in the carport and that is where it has sat for the last 24 years. She has now decided it is time to let go of the past and give someone a chance to bring this Olds back into the spotlight. The car has 146,000 actual miles and since it has been sitting needs all the fluids changed along with cleaning the fuel system and tank. The brakes also need attention. It has had some "roll around" used tires put on so it could be moved. Since it has been moved the pinion seal is starting to leak. Powered by a 324 cu. in. Olds 'Rocket' V8! The colors are original, code S63-65 brown over tan, but the car was repainted in the factory colors in the 1970s and the original lacquer paint underneath is checking in a couple of places, nothing major but I do need to disclose it. No rust as this is an original Arizona car. Never in an accident. Beautiful chrome and stainless trim. This is a no frills car, no power and no real accessories other than a rear speaker for the radio. Interior is done in two-tone green. The upholstery is original and is covered with Fingerhut plastic covers, put on in 1977. Nice original headliner. Trim code is 362. Original carpets. Automatic transmission. Four "Dog-dish" hubcaps on the original steel wheels. Clear Arizona title along with a large folder of original maintenance receipts, owners manual and all other papers related to the car. Vin no. 551633, serial no. 557C5296. Winning bidder is responsible for picking up or arranging transportation of the Oldsmobile.
