Super Rare "A-body Convertible" 1968 Dodge Dart GTS Convertible. Its the only AA-1 Silver Convertible Ever built. It also has a super rare horizontal red GTS stripe. I have multiple MOPAR magazines that this car was featured in both as a Cover Car and also as a center fold vehicle with a full history of the vehicle. I am the third owner. See below. Please contact me with any questions or comments. July 16, 2009 To Whom It May Concern: I viewed a 1968 Dodge Dart GTS Convertible VIN#LS27P8106585 on July 16th, 2009. My company specializes in MOPAR restoration and appraisals. This Dart GTS convertible is 1 of 271 that were built in 1968 and comes with its original numbers matching 340ci 4brl engine and original automatic transmission. Per the Chrysler Registry, this car is one of one that were built with AA1 polished silver paint. It was special ordered with the following options: High back bucket seats with counsel, horizontal race stripe, heavy duty Torq-flight 727 automatic transmission, fender mounted turn signals, and 3.23 sure grip rear end per the fender tag that is riveted to the car’s inner wheel well. Classic cars are rated on a 1 to 5 basis. 1 being an absolute show car, meaning no road driving, to 5 which represents a vehicle that is in need of a complete rotisserie restoration. Most elite restored classic cars that are actually driven are rated at a solid 2 rating. Condition Report: Exterior Paint: AA1 Silver Poly: High gloss appearance, no chips on the vehicle. No rust or bubbling in the paint. Overall its in a solid 2+ condition. Exterior Miscellaneous: Bumpers are freshly re-chromed, all trim is freshly re-chromed. Tires are new with redline tires, with the original steel wheels and special edition GTS Hub Caps. Interior Seats, Carpet, and Dash: Interior seats are in great condition, carpet is in great condition, dash has no cracks, fading or tears. Instrument panel is all functional and original. Based on the visual inspection, the rarity of this vehicle, and recent sales of similar vehicles, I feel that this GTS convertible is worth between $50,000 and $58,000.
