Vehicle Detail

RELISTED - RESERVE HAS BEEN LOWERED!!! PLEASE NOTE THAT ADDITIONAL PHOTOS, WITH ADDITIONAL DESCRIPTIONS ARE POSTED WITHIN THE TEXT OF THE VEHICLE DESCRIPTION, AND THAT ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARE INCLUDED IN THE VEHICLE DESCRIPTION. Though some of the pictures are the same as those provided above, they contain additional explanation below, and are therefore included again, below. HISTORY OF THE VEHICLE: I purchased this "Arctic White" Chevrolet Camaro in November of 1997, from the local Cadillac and Lexus dealer. At the time, the car had 15,138 original miles. At the time of this listing, the vehicle has 41,856 original miles. After purchasing this vehicle, I received a telephone call from the dealer, who asked my permission to allow the previous owner to contact me. The previous owner contacted me and explained that this car was "his baby" and that he was disappointed that he had to sell it. He explained that he was especially upset because on the day that he was trading the car in, it was raining, and prior to that, he had always kept the car out of the rain (and, of course, the snow). I have since met his wife, as well, who explained how meticulously the vehicle was maintained, and explained that the gentleman always wrapped a towel around the gas pump when he inserted it, to prevent any part of the pump or any drips of gasoline from touching the car. I assured the previous owner that I would maintain "my new baby" just as he maintained it when it was his, and I have tried my very best to do just that. The car has only rarely seen rain, has never been driven in the snow, and has always been garaged. It has always been waxed and serviced at the appropriate times. Everything in the car is in perfect working order, the steering and suspension are still tight, and every mechanical part is just as responsive as it was on the day I bought the car. It does not make any unusual rattles or creaks. Upon turning the key, this car consistently goes from crank to fire faster than any other car I've ever owned. Several times that I have had the oil changed (Valvoline SynPower Full Synthetic), the mechanics have, without me even asking, told me that the oil that they changed out looked "really clean." This includes the most recent time I had the oil changed, a couple of hundred miles ago. I constantly receive compliments on this car, at locations like gas stations, car shows, and every place in between. CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE: The car is all original, with the exception of 3 inch custom exhaust (which came with a lifetime warranty from the service shop that built and installed it) and sounds superb. In addition, the car has a Webasto power sunroof that, at the slide of the toggle switch, tilts up, and slides open to the rear of the car. The sunroof has never leaked, even under high pressure wash, as evidenced by the photographs of the sunroof open and taken from above (no rust or foreign debris), and the clean headliner on the interior. Below is a picture of the toggle switch, located just to the front of the sunroof opening, which can be held back to tilt the rear of the roof up, and held back to slide the roof back as little or as much as you wish to open the roof, until it is opened all of the way: I had an Excalibur car alarm with remote keyless entry, a JVC Kameleon CD Player/AM/FM Radio, Sony Speakers, and an amplifier to power the rear speakers all professionally installed (the stereo looks and sounds better than the factory unit, but is not obnoxious). Below, please find pictures of the professionally installed amplifier, mounted to the floor of the deeper part of the trunk, followed by a picture of the less deep part of the trunk, below the hatch and luggage cover: The paint is extremely bright white, so much so that the car always looks clean even if it has a layer of dust on it. The body does not have any rust, oxidation, or other signs of wear and the car has always been adult driven. The car has no dents and has never been in an accident (there have been very few situations where I was unable to park a distance away from the other cars in a particular lot). Below are several pictures of the exterior of the car that were not included above. As you can see from the pictures, I tried to take pictures in a variety of different locations, from a variety of angles and distances, and at different times of day with different lighting situations: The body color painted and aluminum wheels (new to this model year) are all in great shape, and do not have any scrapes on the lips of the wheels (this car has not rubbed against any curbs). The Dunlop P245/50Z16 tires do not show any signs of wear, that I have been able to find: The interior is spotless, including the dash, all of the carpets (including the trunk), all of the floor mats, the console area, the instrument panel, the steering wheel, the gear shifter, the seats and the doors. The car does have a few rock chips that have been touched up by either me, or the previous owners or dealerships, and none of the chips was ever left bare for very long, so no rust was ever allowed to form on the chipped areas. The touched up rock chips are not noticeable from more than a few feet away, and at eye level. I tried to get some pictures of the touched up rock chips, but I cannot make them appear in the photographs. The black painted or black plastic portions (the recessed area surrounding the foglights and front license plate area, the area in front of the headlights, the black portion of the "power blisters" on the hood, and all of the trim) show no signs of fading. FEATURES AND OPTIONS: This car has the following standard features and options: 5.7 liter, 350 cu. in. L98 V8 with Tuned Port Injection, G92 performance package (3.23 rear axle ratio, A4 transmission) dual catalytic converters, engine oil cooler, side valances with scoops in front of each wheel, "Ferarri F40 style" rear wing, "power blisters" on the hood, recessed foglights, red bowtie over black between foglights (behind front license plate holder, if you live in a state that doesn't require front license plates or intend to show the car), 16 inch wheels with body colored white paint and alluminum, power trunk release (power assisted lowering and latching - also functional with the Excalibur car alarm and keyless entry), center high mount stop lamp inside the top edge of the rear hatch (was located on the rear spoiler in previous model years), power windows, power driver's seat, power sideview mirrors, cruise control, tilt steering, AC (blows cold!), rear defroster and maplights on the underside of the rearview mirror. I hate to have to part with this car, but I hope that it goes to a buyer who appreciates it as much as the previous owners and I have.
