INTERIOR: New loop pile black carpet, black bucket seats, new B&M floor shifter, new Grant GT steering wheel, tach, water temp, oil pressure, trans temp, new weather stripping for front & rear windows, fuel pump cut-off switch, electric fan switch, fuel gauge & speedo work, no headliner. Drivers seat has one small separation at the seam up high. EXTERIOR: All original panels. The lower right corner drivers side door has a little rust, but all other panels are extremely solid. NOTE: ‘73’ Grabbers came with just a standard hood w/hood decal only. 2 Dash trays, 3 sport mirrors, seat belts, All window chrome strips, 4 hood hinges, rods for headliner, some weather stripping, bags of misc. parts & electrical parts. Complete front disc brake set-up from a ’77’ (Spindles, rotors, calipers). 6/19/2011 - The stock starter was cranking slowly, so I replaced it with a new high torque mini starter & a new Mallory cap/rotor kit. Drove the car 1.5 miles today, no major issues. Shifts/drives/steers/stops…all good. The tires should be replaced as the rubber is over 16yrs old & I really don’t care for the front drum brakes. With the amount of power this car has, front drums are inadequate at higher speeds. (Door Specs) Body(62D) = Maverick 2-door Sport Sedan Grabber Color(3B) = Light Blue Trim(LB) = ? Trans(W) = C4 Automatic Axle(6) = 3.00:1 DSO(57) = Houston TX Texas to Michigan in 1993 where it has been an ongoing project since. I purchased the vehicle in 1996. It has always been stored properly, off ground, carpet underneath, dehumidifies in Spring, etc. In 1997 I had the undercarriage/interior floor/engine compartment media-blasted …2 coats primer/2 coats high gloss black engine paint was applied afterward. The underneath is immaculate! Thy original V8 302 ended up in another vehicle. It now has a 351w, C4trans, 9” rear. Most work was done professionally by race shops - Engine/trans/rear end/headers/alignment/etc. Engine & heads were completed in 1989. I do have the engine build sheet & cam card. The engine was suppose to go into a ’67’ Galaxy in 1991, but never happened so it went into the ’73’ Grabber instead. The build sheet for the heads doesn’t indicate whether the valve seats were hardened or not, so I always added a lead substitute to the fuel. The engine has 25 miles on it since install. No engine leaks. The trans has a slight leak at either the pan or temp sending unit. Manual steering, manual brakes, small bumpers(70-72 style). Car came with factory air so the windows have the factory tint. Odometer currently reads 38,637(probably actual, but not sure). Has Grabber deck lid & deluxe gas cap. I have taken exceptional care over the last 15yrs to keep the vehicle stored correctly. In Winter months I roll the engine over by hand at least once a month & drove it around the area here every Summer. I probably only put a mile per yr on it. All lights work. No heat. Wipers work. Maverick could use a few upgrades, a MSD ignition(Mallory dual point currently), install front discs. Clean Title & street legal. Check your local codes, most Counties don’t allow rear slicks, but I see it all the time here at car shows & on the street. Just to show that this ones not a cheap ’slop-job’ - *Engine Build =$1,995.00 *Heads+Rockers =$1,150.00 *Custom Exhaust =$1,600.00 (headers, mufflers, pipes, cer.coat) *C4 Transmission =$1,100.00 *Rad./Elect.Fan =$500.00 *9” w/Detroit locker, ladder bars, roll cage = $1,900.00(not including labor costs). I also had a full 4 point wheel alignment done in 2005. Is it worth your time having it transported/shipped? Definitely! You will have an excellent/solid ’73’ without having to spend thousands on rust repair & panel replacement. You could put mirrors on the ground to show the undercarriage its that clean! I kept the chrome strips off to prepare for paint. All the chrome strip clips are in place. I have some weather stripping, but not all. Most is now available online. I lost my paint guy, so I have lost interest to finish. Also, I will be needing the space for incoming business equipment soon, so it must go.
