Vehicle Detail
RARE! 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT Spyder SL This is the one you've been waiting for, just in time for summer top-down fun with all the maintenance done for you to have worry-free driving in this excellent example of Mitsubishi's flagship sports car of the 90's. This three-owner car has been my daily driver for the last year and a half. I bought it with a dent in the quarter panel from a minor fender-bender, some rock chips on the hood, and the overdrive gear out (I have before pictures if you are interested so you can see the damage that was repaired was VERY minor). It had just had the 120k service done on it, so that's done for you, the dent was professionally repaired and the front of the car painted the original black with clear coat, and it has just been detailed with new floor mats so it looks fantastic! The transmission was rebuilt and has only 14k miles on it, shifts solidly, and the engine purrs like a kitten, with lots of power to spare. Launching the car will squeak the tires going into 2nd gear, it's fast! Oil changes were done religiously at 3k miles with Sea Foam run through the crank case and gas tank to keep the internal parts clean and sludge-free. GREAT oil pressure, GREAT gas mileage for a sports car (average 24mpg for me), and it looks fantastic! Turns heads everywhere I go. For the uninitiated, this was the first hard-top convertible produced in the United States since 1957 and started the current rage of hardtop convertibles you see on Lexus, Mercedes, and BMW. These cars were shipped from Japan as coupes then modified on order from Mitsubishi by ASC Mclaren in California into convertibles. There were only a few hundred made that still remain in use today. Mine is the only one in Nashville that's driven regularly. There's one other down in Brentwood but it's a garage showpiece that he only drives 2 or 3 times a year. That means, in all likelihood, you will be the ONLY PERSON driving this unique piece of sports car history around town! Very cool indeed! :) Specs: 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL Spyder6 Cylinder non-turbocharged DOHC engine at 235 Horsepower, front-wheel driveAutomatic Transmission recently rebuilt with warrantyJust finished rotating, balancing, and doing an alignment on the car with new steering tie rod ends, no "road wandering", drives SOLIDAll power options including:Power SteeringPower BrakesPower WindowsDigital Climate ControlPower driver seatConvertible Hard Top works perfectly, as do the quarter windows. Original 17" Chrome Mitsubishi Spyder wheels in decent condition for their age17,000 miles on 17" 225-40-ZR17 tires all around, lots of tread left.CD Changer (unknown if it works, it's original, and the stereo isn't factory so it doesn't interface, but all the hardware and cabling is there.CD Stereo, newer head unit and speakers. Not a Bose system, but it sounds good enough for me. Cons:Carpets are a little worn. I bought brand new Mitsubishi logo carpet mats that cover the worst spots, doesn't look bad at all, but slightly worn underneath those mats.Seats are a little worn. Small tear on the driver's side SEAM which is normal for these cars. If the bidding goes over $8,000 I will have the seats repaired looking almost brand new!Window sash seals on the quarter windows are slightly uneven. Not a problem sealing against the weather, just not "perfect" and I like people knowing what they're getting when they come to pick up a car from me.Some VERY SMALL chips and surface scratches here and there (see pictures). This is a USED car and a DAILY DRIVER. It's not showroom perfect, but looks great, even up close. This is not a fixer-upper. This car is ready to roll for the summer! Recently serviced, waxed, buffed, detailed inside and out, driving regularly every day, including a few road trips now and then. I would not hesitate to fly in and drive this car back to California and not fear break down, it's been that reliable for me. This is the ONLY ONE of these on eBay for sale right now that doesn't need work. There's one from time to time that are fixer-uppers or turbo cars that suck down the gas ($4.00+ a gallon = OUCH), and this one won't last long. These have been selling for $10,000+, I'm starting it at $1,000 with a LOW reserve. eMail to schedule an appointment to come see it. Car is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty express or implied. ALL inspections must be done BEFORE bidding. Do NOT bid contingent on inspecting the car.Your bid is a binding contract in all 50 states, and will be enforced as such. Do NOT bid unless you have the cash in hand.$500 Deposit due within 72 hours of the end of auction via Paypal. NO exceptions! Deposit refundable if car is found to be materially misrepresented (which it's not).Final payment is due within 5 working days. NO exceptions. Payment must be in cash. If bringing a Cashier's Check or Money Order, it must clear your bank before you can drive it away. Too much fraud these days. I do NOT accept Paypal for the full balance unless you want to add another 2% for what they will charge me to your payment.PLEASE email me with ALL questions you have BEFORE you bid. If you place a bid and retract it to find out where the next buyer's bid max is at, I will BLOCK YOU FROM MY AUCTIONS and you won't be able to bid. Sorry for all the do's and don'ts, too many people out there who just can't seem to follow the rules. Please come see it for yourself, you'll fall in love! :)On Jun-17-11 at 05:54:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention, the car's climate control system works perfectly, the sensor picks up the proper temperature and adjusts automatically. The AC blows ice cold, good fan output through the vents, cools the car quickly, no problem. No, I do not accept trades. Thanks, and feel free to ask more questions if you have them. On Jun-20-11 at 11:38:47 PDT, seller added the following information: I keep forgetting things to mention... Just a few last thoughts at the end of bidding. The passenger side front CV axle was replaced last month, cost $325, the boots get work and leak the grease out and they start "popping" after 7-8 years, so this one had to be redone, have receipts. Just replaced the battery recently as well, $100 bucks, works great, receipt included for warranty through Advance. (was not a yellow or red top, just a normal battery but it does just fine with the voltage for the top). Had a bidder come inspect it today who remarked how quiet it ran and how nice it was for a daily driver, no rattles or noises, no leaks or issues, and how quickly and quietly the top ran. This really is a great car and although it needs a little "touch-up" to look perfect, mechanically it's VERY sound and the few things it needs are minor. What a great deal, I can't believe this car hasn't gone to $9,000+ by now! Bid soon before it's gone!
