Vehicle Detail
Of course if you are reading this you probably already know that Syncro Vanagon's are the ultimate vehicle. If you do not know, then feel free to check out these websites: http://www.syncro.org/ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/cat.php?id=55 I purchased this van about 2 years ago, and it has been an amazing vehicle. I have put almost 20K miles on it since I bought it, including 6 trips between the NW and the SW (where the van is currently located). The van has some modifications including a full length cut out with a sunroof. The previous owner cut it out in preparation of installing a camper on top. It is a custom job and could use some work, but I have driven it in all kinds of weather and it does just fine at keeping cool/warm. There are also custom cabinets installed in the back. The van has 261,XXX miles on the original 2.1 waterboxer. It was rebuilt at 180K miles by the previous owner. The motor is in good condition and is a daily driver. It leaks no oil, and has a recent tune up and coolant housing replacement (was cracked). Brakes recently done as well. The inner area of the van has been modified to have laminate flooring instead of carpet, and the bench seat and jump are both mounted rear facing currently as we have six children and this is what works best for us. AN easy adjustment for your personal tastes. The transmission is in great condition, as is the drive line. Comes with upgraded 15" rims (although not the ones pictured). The RPM gauge does not light up. No stereo. Driver's window mechanism broken and must either be in up or down position, currently in down position because we are in New Mexico and it is hot. The front passenger seat has been replaced with a bench seat in order to seat an additional person. There is little to no rust on the van. The passenger side slider was scraped and dented on a gas pump pole. Could be replaced, although we never bothered. The drive shaft and viscous coupling are in excellent condition and the 4X4 runs like a dream. We have another Syncro, Subaru 2.2 conversion for sale here also. Moving away from gasoline engines to meet our veggie oil lifestyle of our 40' Greyhound and various other diesel vehicles. Vehicle currently resides in Taos, NM. We will consider transport to SOME locations with payment and additional fee which could be discussed, as we have the equipment and/or time to do so. Email with any questions and they will be quickly answered. The value of Syncro's are holding strong through the recession! Get it while you can. Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. All sales are final and vehicle is sold in as is condition. We are more than willing to show the vehicle, offer it for inspection and allow test drives as well as additional pictures. Peace. On Jun-16-11 at 18:39:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Also, there is a foam square for the pad in the back as the cabinets make it necessary to modify the stock cushion. So either keep it like this or pull the cabinets and replace with an original cushion. There is also a locking rear differential on this van.
