Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 2003 Suzuki GSX-R 600 and all the accessories listed below. In 2003, Suzuki produced 1500 total (1000 US, 500 Europe) GSX-Rs with the Suzuki Alstare paint scheme as the 40th Anniversary Edition. This paint scheme was a replication of the paint scheme used on the 2003 Suzuki Alstare World Championship Racing team. While the paint scheme was a limited edition, nothing else is different about this bike vs other '03 GSX-Rs. You'll notice on the vin plate the bike is shown as GSX-R 600Z. The "Z" designates the Alstare paint scheme for ordering replacement fairings. All other parts and accessories are all the same as all other '03 GSX-Rs. I bought this bike a couple of years ago and it looks the same now as it did then. I have put less than 1500 miles on it with no racing or stunting. It currently has 14,766 miles on it. The bike is always kept in my garage when not being used and was parked in a parking garage when I rode it to work. I haven't had any problems with it, but since I don't ride it very much, I'm selling it along with all the accessories I have for it (see accessories below). The bike has a clear title in my name and has not been involved in any accidents. There are no mechanical problems with the bike. It starts, runs, shifts and brakes perfect. All major components (engine, gearbox, chassis, suspension) are OEM. The tires are Pirrelli Diablo Corsa III (front and rear) and there are no cuts or blisters. It also has a lot of tread left. The exhaust doesn't smoke and there are no leaks. I keep the chain lubed with a teflon spray lubricant. The oil is mobil 1's 4T racing oil. I would rate the bike in perfect mechanical condition. There are some scuffs and scratches on the fairings/fairing decals and it looks like someone touched up the paint and lettering on the fairings at some point (see photos). The plastic ram air ducts leading from the front fairing to the top of the engine are wrapped in black tape, which indicates they may be cracked (a common problem for this model bike). I never unwrapped them to check. I do have an extra air duct to replace the right side if it is cracked, but I don't have one for the left side. The front turn signals have been replaced with flush mount turn signals. The left side fairing has a small notch cut out near one of the bolts that hold the engine to the frame. Based on the location and size of this cut-out, I believe someone had installed a frame slider at some point. There are no rips or tears in either of the seats. The rear seat and rear seat cowling is included, though the bike is shown with only the rear seat cowling on it. I would rate the body work as above average. The photos shown are the actual bike. More can be taken upon request. ACCESSORIES INCLUDED WITH THIS AUCTION The following items are also included in this auction: 1 black nylon motorcycle cover (with storage pouch). 1 motorcycle ramp (8ft long, 1000lb capacity) made by Prairie View Industries. Folds in half for easy storage and has a carrying handle. 1 battery tender (used, but with original package). The bike has the pig-tail installed. Simply plug the tender into the bike then plug the tender into the wall to keep the battery charged during the winter. Also works great for charging a dead battery if you leave the lights on after shutting down the bike (I've done it a couple of times). 1 rear stand (700lb capacity) made by Haul Master. The stand came with spools that are attached to the rear swing arm of the bike. Great for lifting the rear wheel to move the bike around in a garage, or to lube the chain. The stand is not 100% flat. When sitting on a flat surface, the stand tetters a little bit. All items sold AS IS. SHIPPING The bike is located in Rapid City, South Dakota. The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. Obviously, local pickup is welcomed. Based on the buyers location, we may be able to make arrangements to meet somewhere in the middle. IF YOU WANT TO USE THIS OPTION FOR TAKING DELIVERY, CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING TO SEE IF WE CAN MAKE THE ARRANGEMENTS. ALL BIDS ARE BINDING! PAYMENT Paypal will be the only accepted form of payment for the down payment of $600. The down payment is non-refundable. If the bike is shipped through a vehicle transport/shipping company, the remaining balance will be due through paypal, prior to shipping. If local pick up or personal delivery is arranged, the remaining balance will be due at the time of delivery and may be paid in cash, money order or paypal. On Jun-14-11 at 11:01:45 PDT, seller added the following information: ****Since listing this auction, several people have asked me why I'm selling the bike. My wife and I work shift work and we have 2 kids. I also have to take equipment to work with me that I can't haul on the bike. Between taking kids to day care or picking them up, or hauling my gear to work, and doing general family things on the weekends, I don't ride that often anymore. Most of my friends that do have bikes have Harley's or similar bikes, not sports bikes. I rode my previous bike way more than this one, but at this point in my life, its not something I'm getting much use from. Good luck bidding and feel free to contact me with any other questions.
