Restored 1973 Thing.....Turns heads wherever I drive. If you think you'll get tired of hearing "NICE THING", this vehicle is not for you!!!! Not a show car, but it sure looks great. Starts right up and runs well. Only driven during the summer. The body and underbody are solid. Engine was rebuilt in 2005 with 82,400 miles on the odometer. Right side wheel bearings, brake master cylinder, and lower ball joints were also replaced. There are some very minor dents and light surface rust on the underbody. Convertible top is in good condition, but it does have a couple minor tears on the drivers side. Please see photo. Back seat was recently re-upholstered. One year old battery. Side curtains are in good condition, one broken glass. Does have the original gas heater, but it does not work. The Thing is garage keep and is not driven in the winter, or rain. So, I've had no need to repair the heater. Driver's door latch sometimes doesn't latch. Not sure how to adjust. I have not asked a mechanic to adjust. Thing Shop floor mats and rear speakers (not installed) are also included. Clarion stereo. Lights, wipers and gauges all work. Spare tire also included. This Thing is very clean and is a blast to drive. Why am I selling this vehicle? Unfortunatly, my oldest child will be starting drivers Ed. this summer and we need room in the garage for his vehicle. It will be a tough day when we depart (of course, the Thing)!!! Payment - A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours of the auction close and the balance within 7 days of the auctions end. Buyer is responsible for all financing arrangements. All title and paperwork will be completed within 48 hours of receipt of cashiers check or bank wire transfer. Costs associated with express shipment of documents will be responsibility of the buyer.
