Vehicle Detail
I have had this clean 1989 GTA 5.7L for the last 8 years. It is has an automatic transmission, T-tops, power everything, and leather that is in really good condition. It has over 135k miles but I have kept it in the garage and it was driven only as a "summer fun" car. NOTICE WHEN VIEWING PICTURES . . . I have intentionally given zoom'd in pics of the "less desireable" area of the car. I want to be very honest with the condition of this car. I have hit all of the areas that are not so nice that I know of. Other than that the paint is glossy and the car is in good condition. It has only been to the mechanic a few times. Each time it has been in the shop there is one comment that all the mechanics used "Man! This is the cleanest GTA I have seen for the miles. All work that has been done has been to replace part. There as been no tinkering with the motor so the motor is strong. The motor was re-built two years before I bought the car and I replaced the transmission threes years ago. The car has some knicks and minor dents and it needs a new headliner. There is NO rust on the vehicle. When I bought the car I had some of the leather on the seats replaced. Other than that there are no rips or tears in the lether. That being said the rear spoiler is deteriorating as they always do. It is in good shape, but you can see some cracks in the spoiler. The paint is shinny, but there are some dents and scratches. Mechanically I had one of the injectors replaced and I was told that they all shold be done. I was told that is why it runs a little rich and #8 injector. It is a very good looking and very strong driving vehicle. I am being honest with its condition. I had the cats cut off and replaced with a straight pipe. The lack of cat's and an after market radio are the only part of the car that is not stock. Again it is a very mechanically strong vehicle. I would trust it to drive me across the US. I bought it in Kansas City and drove it to Michigan. I feel as confident making that drive then and I would do it now. Seriously, if you are looking to get a vintage firebird and put a little money into it to make it perfect this is the car. You would be starting with a CLEAN under carriage, NO rust, strong motor, new transmission (less than 1000 miles) . . . what more can I say. - No rust - about 1000 miles on trans, about 20k on engine - no gas tank less than 500 miles ago - T-tops do leak so this is not an every day driving vehicle. When I got the SFC put on I had the t-tops adjusted for no leaks. I was told then there was more adjustment available - starts right up - drives straight - brakes straight - a/c has been converted. A/C works but is a little weak (struggles in 90 deg heat) - everything electrical works: cruise control, windows, locks, rear hatch motor, pop headlights, etc.On Jun-14-11 at 03:47:19 PDT, seller added the following information: *** UPDATE 06/14/2011 ***** I have had a request for more pictures.
