This Corvette is being relisted. Please do not hit the buy it now if you are from any country outside of NATO (Thanks to the last guy from the Middle East) At this point I must insist that the terms of the sale be adhered to. A $500 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT is due w/in 24 hrs of the sale, or it will be relisted as it is now. No exceptions! The car is available to be inspected at anytime before the close of the sale. Once an offer is submitted and accepted, either with or without an inspection by the buyer, deposit is due. I am available at any time to answer any questions. I am available to show the car to anyone serious enough to come to Delaware and see it. I AM OPEN TO OFFERS LESS THAN 10K BUT THEY WILL NOT INCLUDE THE ORIGINAL CARBURETOR, SMOG, OR HANG TAGS ( OR ANY ONE OF THOSE ITEMS DEPENDING ON OFFER...If you want all the tags, orig carburetor, SMOG and all that jazz.....the offer must be at least 10k or it will be declined. Know this before reading any further. THE CORVETTE NEEDS A FRAME OFF RESTORATION! The lucky owner of this car will have probably one of the most original and heavily documented 68 Corvettes anywhere for the price. IT NEEDS A FRAME OFF RESTORATION!!!!!!! The frame needs some attention. It has a lot of surface rust, some heavy in spots. This does NOT mean it is rotted all over. There is an area about 6" long behind the driver's side front wheel that is soft. It was recently found. Since then, every other parts was checked and found to be solid, but rusty. The frame is usable and can be restored EASILY....Remember, it NEEDS A FRAME OFF. I know how easy this fix is as I have a restored 68 that had a frame off in 2004. The portion of the frame (about 6") found to be soft will have a replacement piece given to the new owner that is big enough to do the job........ IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DO A FRAME OFF AND CANNOT DEAL WITH AN EASY CHASIS RESTORATION, PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER! I HATE TO HAVE TO BE THIS WAY BUT RECENT EVENTS HAVE CAUSED ME TO OVER EMPHASIZE THIS POINT. Hello and thank you for looking at this sale. ***The original color of this car is Silverstone Silver*** For sale is a one owner, heavily documented and original 1968 Corvette Coupe L-79 w/ factory AC. The car has 53k original miles. It was purchased new in mid August 1968 and driven until 1982 when it was stored. I purchased the car (did not title it) over a year ago to restore, but decided to restore my 69 instead. The car could use a restoration as seen. The engine DOES run. When I bought it, the engine was locked up. I recently took it to a Corvette specialist (been in business since the 60's). The carb, intake, exhaust and heads were removed and cleaned. Turns out all it needed was a valve job. The block is beautiful. The cylinders and original pistons look great! It runs great but will need a new fuel line and brakes. We repainted the intake and heads after they were blasted so they would not rust. I also have the original dated shocks. Mechanical and Other: *** All Original to This Car***Original Block (beautiful textbook engine stamp), Original M-21 Transmission, Original 3:70 Rear, Original Heads and Valve Covers, Original Intake, Original Exhaust Manifolds (no pipes...they were bad), Original Starter, Original Alternator, Original Distributor. Original Rochester (7028219 DG, not on car but comes with), Original SMOG Pump and Diverter / Pulley, Pretty sure it is the Original Radiator, RC-15 Cap Original AC Compressor, which spins fine (beautiful label) Original Jack, Handle, Spring and Tray, Original T-Top Bags (still folded) ,NOT ORIGINAL MASTER CYLINDER but I have a nice 68 core if you want it. Original Spare Tire....and more... Documentation: *** ALL Original to THIS CAR*** Original Window Sticker, Original Bill of Sale, Original Protecto-Plate, Original Owners Manual and Sleeve, Original Wiper Instruction Tag, Original Radio Card, Original Trim Ring Card, Original Shim Bag, Original Keys (knockouts intact) Original Smog Brochure. If you are not sure of the value of the hang tags alone, check out the current auction price for an original 68 Corvette Wiper /Headlight Tag! Interior: 100% Original and super nice. NOW....THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT IS SHOW CONDITION. IT JUST MEANS IT IS ALL ORIGINAL AND NOT ALL TORN UP AS MOST ARE. NO TEARS OR CRACKS in the vinyl or any of the dash parts. The seats are VERY NICE. The carpet is bad and needs to be replaced in the front. The rear carpet is ok. No breaks at all in the original steering wheel or 68 only E Brake console. . Body: Nicks and chipped off paint everywhere. Dealer installed luggage rack. The white repaint by original owner looks horrible. Original Silverstone Silver can be seen in places. There is a gouge in the left rear quarter that does NOT go all the way through. A couple small issues (r/rear wheel well lip and hood surround in front). The doors shut nice and solidly. Weatherstrip is in great shape. Glass is all original except front windshield. Having said all this, I would restore this car fully, it needs it. It was inspected and appariased very recently by a TOP NCRS JUDGE in this cruddy market. He appraised the car at $15,300 AS IS. I will also entertain REASONABLE offers. PLEASE know what is involved in restoring this car before bidding. It can be a beautiful NCRS dream when done. The same TOP NCRS Judge advised that the documentation alone on this car adds approx 5K to the value when "restored". This car will need to be transported. The brakes are shot and it needs a new fuel line. I am sellig this car 100% AS IS. I strongly encourage seriously interested parties to contact me so we can discuss the car at length on the phone and possibly set up an inspection. The car is in Delaware. A $500.00 Non-Refundable deposit is due within 24 hrs of the sale. Certified Funds or Cash upon pick-up in Delaware. Thanks and take care!
