A Rare Estate Find At 3 Days With No Reserve Purchased recently thru a Estate sale in Los Angeles, California. The original owner passed away in late 2010 and the Chevelle was found sitting in her garage. After purchasing the Chevelle, I spoke to the next door neighbor to try to find out some more about the history of the car. He said "she owned it for the longest time" & It was always in the garage". She was near 85 years old & barley drove the last years of her life. Above photo is the home the Chevelle spent most of it's life inside that garage. _______________________________ A original 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Hardtop Coupe. Purchased new at the Famous "Felix Chevrolet" in Downtown Los Angeles, off of Figueroa Street. Original Palomino Ivory with Black Imitation Leather interior. Originally a 307 V8 Powerglide with Air Conditioning. Still has the original steel wheels. Remains very much original with one repaint done years ago, same color. A California Malibu that is still wearing it's original Black plates & Felix License frames. All original panels & floors. Never been taken apart or restored. A excellent example of a California car. The trunk has a small gap from the tailight panel. Looks as the panel might had have a dent & fixed before. It is the original tail light panel & trunk does close. The vinyl top looks as it was replaced upon the repaint. Has a few bubble around the rear window & in the top, minor. The interior is 100% bones stock original. It still intact and complete with the original am radio.The headliner toward the front stiching opened & looks as the owner stich it back to stay up. Doors panels, carpet, dash compartment are original. The windshield wiper knob & shifter handle are missing. The glovebox is like a time capsule. Now the drivetrain. The original 307 is long gone & a crate Goodwrench 350 replaced it. Seems as the top end is original intake/carb/air cleaner. The A.C is still in place and does work - not cold though. Under the hood is really looking stock. Running & Driving just fine. Has a new radiator with new hoses. The automatic shifts into all gears. Overall, would make a good driver for someone. Still has the old curb feelers attach to the fender. I assume the miles have turned over once. An original California Chevelle that is unrestored. A rare Estate find that does not come often. Plenty of Chevelles out there but how many left behind by the original owner. I imagine the older lady owner driving this thru out the years around Los Angeles. Its looks like it was one of those storys - original owner never wanting to sell & left it behind in the estate. Please keep in mind, this is a unrestored 40+ years old car. Older paint with normal wear & tear.
